I used to draw, read and daydream with the faeries when I was younger, but I guess it kind of faded as I grew older and reality crept in. But this book brought back the inspiration and courage to dream again and to hope. It has helped me to believe in the fae again, not in the same way as when I was younger, but in a way that has renewed my love of nature, believing without seeing, learning more about my ancestors and where I have come from and how that can influence me on my own path, renewed self love and understanding how to use my personal power to help the world in a positive way and I have more of an understanding of the beauty of sensuality. I love the way the book is written and the different elements. I love how it can be deep with tradition and history and yet have fun elements such as the chapters on playing with the faeries and getting crafty with the fae. It's also a great reference that I turn to often for more info and understanding. I would thoroughly recommend this book!A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!

5.0 out of 5 stars A little magic for everyone 1 Aug. 2010
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Up front I'll let you know, I'm not into fairies/faeries. Well correction, I wasn't until I read this book. I'm Pagan in my beliefs and way of life but the whole faery thing had been relegated to cute, childhood fantasy in my eyes. YES I have created them in my artwork but I never bother to sit down with anyone and really listen. Which is EXACTLY where the "Book of Faery Magic" comes in.
It's like a wonderful retreat with a bunch of friends, sharing history, recipes, spells, ideas, wishes and dreams. They introduce us to other artists, writers, countries, beliefs and possibilities in each chapter. It's hard to close the cover without bringing something back into your world.
Lucy Cavendish and Serene Conneeley must have been on a wondrous time creating this book, it sparkles right out from every page.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is Faery Magic 5 Aug. 2010
By sandee - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
If you are looking for information on Fairies this would be the book to buy. It is very informative on all levels. It will guide you through chapters based on the history of fairies and sacred fairy sites throughout the world. You will meet fairies from around the world who have inspired writers, artists and filmmakers. It gives you ideas on planting a fairy garden which has inspired me to set one up and learn about the magic of certain herbs and flowers along with using the moon and seasons.
If you have children this book will inhance their imagination. They (and you) will learn to make your own wand, crown and wings for a fairy party.
I have certainly enjoyed reading this book and learning about the different languages fairies use and their magical gifts. The last chapter is a fairy quiz for you to take and learn what kind of fairy you are along with a little inside information about yourself.
I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in fairies or learning about them.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'Come Away, O Human Child' 29 July 2010
By Larissa - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Faeries are not just tiny girls with butterfly wings dancing around and granting wishes, although they certainly can be just that. For hundreds of years faeries and their kind have been a part of our lives in some way or another, through stories and songs, and superstitions and customs. Weather you believe in them or not faeries have always been a beautiful, feared, enchanting, inspiring influence to us.

The Book Of Faery Magic is the ultimate guide to all things faery while still being entertaining, informative and enthralling. If you believe in faeries or are just curious there is much for you to learn from this book, from their history and legends, their magical gifts and sites, to their own unique beings found around the world. There are also quizzes and recipes and crafts to keep you busy while you explore their magical world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting 4 Aug. 2010
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This book for me has been the most enchanting, fun and inspirational guides to all that is magical in the faery world. I loved learning about faery history and the magic that they can weave in our everyday lives. I had so much fun baking some of the faery treats for an afternoon tea party, and I also spent a wonderful afternoon setting up a magical faery garden in my own backyard. This has all helped me re connect with our precious earth and bring me back closer to mother nature that we sometimes find ourselves too busy to notice. And more importantly with the faery child that was hidden deep inside me, that I have not seen for a very long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars be ready to embrace change. 9 Sept. 2011
By Brigitte - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This book came just at the right time. I am a trained pathology collector and I was going to live and work in the city. The book talks about how we have lost touch with nature and country living. The books discusses about finding your gifts. Not only does the book discuss defending the environment it looks at other gifts such as healing and artistic gifts. The book has something in it for everyone. The main message to come through is to find your true gift, be connected with nature and follow your dreams. I am glad I followed the book's advice. Not only do I have a chance of getting into medicine but I could get a rural scholarship as I want to live and work as a country doctor. If we want to be healthy as a society we need to make sure that we have a healthy and clean environment. A toxic and polluted environment can do damage to our overall health. Finally a little light hearted fun with the craft ideas is just what the doctor ordered for good mental health. Learning to engage in play is good for the heart and soul. Just ask any good Occupational Therapist. A good well worth getting.
