'Chronicles not just changing dining habits but the cookery book's role in illustration and design' --The Independent

'This is an ideal way to look through 101 cookbooks without buying every one - or a dangerous invitation to do just that … it is enlightening to see who makes the final cut.' --The Field magazine

'As a history of cookbooks it's a solid winner!' --Midwest Book Review

Loved finding out which books were included and seeing how the design, illustration and photography of cookbooks has evolved over the past 500 years.

This was so misleading! It says classical books but when you read it, a person who collects books says they are her favourite books. It is a completely subjective list and few can be considered classics

This book has a British emphasis but includes reviews of many American cookbooks, too. I spent hours comparing the author's book collection with mine. The book arrived promptly but with a few more dings than expected.
