Unknown is a great introduction to a promising and exciting series. The prologue gives a good indication of what might be happening in a global chaos. A state of total confusion and utter disarray.

Rylen doesn't live in the ideal family environment. He is close to his father but the rest of the family expect far too much from him.

Amber has a loving and happy family life with her parents, grandparents and older brother, Jacob.

Rylen is nine years old when he first meets six year old Amber. He becomes Jacob's best friend whilst Amber develops a crush on him. The crush has got stronger through her teenage years and into adulthood.

Out of the blues, there are simultaneous attacks on the major cities in America, causing death and destruction. It looks like it's the work of the terrorists. The nightmares get worse when the attacks extend to most cities and then globally.

Rylen and Jacob have joined the forces and Amber has qualified as a nurse and a Medic. She is totally dedicated and works endlessly to ensure the comfort of the injured. There is an attack on the hospital and this raises questions. The organisation meant to keep things in order, employ some questionable methods. At this point, the water is contaminated. The electricity supply is not restored and food is getting more scarce by the day. This adds to the problem as everyone starts to fight for survival.

Amber keeps in touch with Rylen and remains hopeful that he might just return her feelings until he returns with the most unexpected news. Amber is heartbroken but with everything else that's going on, she concentrates on helping others.

This first installment revolves more around the horrors of the constant attacks, told in Amber's point of view.

Wow what a ride!! When is book 2 out? Loved this New Adult dystopian! Like a breath of fresh air in the NA world that was needed. Being a huge fan of Mrs Higgins Sweet Evil YA series I just had to give this one a try soon as I heard she was doing a NA Dystopian novel. Iv'e for sure not been disappointed.

I NEED to know what those shots were? Why did Amber and Remy get such bad reactions to the shots? Why not all women? Was it all women of child bearing age who were not already pregnant?

I love how Higgins made it seem so real, I can imagine people would react in this way if it happened in reality. Everyone would be so panicked and scarred people would follow all the advise of the authorities desperate to believe they can keep them safe, trusting them blindly and not questioning. So believable I felt I was living in the world as it was happening.

Thrilling addictive read, can't wait for more!!

I really liked this book , the characters are great , well developed and likeable. You feel that you can connect with them , they are not perfect, what make them so well written that you can't stop yourself to love them , be sad with them and want them to win against all this evil. This book shows you how easy , even when you think you are doing the write thing, the world can be destroyed on the premise of fixing all the wrongs and putting it to right. The only thing I don't like in this book is that it is a freaking series and the next one only will be out next winter , 2017 people . Why oh why.... Did already told you guys I hate series? I only read them when it is a complete series , but I got this one by mistake .... well to late now , I love the book and will need to suffer the wait lol.
