Amusing twist on functional product. Hubby delighted with it - much admired by his colleagues. Brings a sense of fun to the office.

Not a genuine Bone product and no flash drive inside when it arrived, just an empty, generic ninja casing! If it is a genuine Bone one will have lots of detailing, Bone logo, magnetic hands and proper packaging. Plus the drive is guaranteed. Genuine article is a whole different proposition from the very dodgy product I was sent.

Present for my 13 year old. He thinks it's very cool. Looks sturdy so hope it lasts him for a few years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome product, but BUYER BEWARE !!! 9 Feb. 2012
By Antonio R. - Published on Amazon.com

This product is really cool with great features I will list later, but anyone interested in ordering it on-line should BE AWARE THERE ARE sellers trying to get away with sending cheaper KNOCK-OFFS!
At the end of January 2012 I tried to purchase a Bone ninja USB drive from Albert Nobbs Collectables, a newly launched Amazon seller from Connecticut at the time, whose on-line storefront became "temporarily unavailable" by the time my item arrived. Interestingly enough, another unmentionable seller from CT with the exact same identifiable product line popped up around this time as well.
The item I got was only mailed 1st class to me in a plain manila envelope with no padding, protection, or receipt. Most importantly though, the item sent to me was a generic so-called "mini-U" branded black USB ninja. There were a LOT of differences from the Bone brand ninja USB drive, but the most notable was that the ninja drive I received revealed its plug by pulling the head completely off, which is totally different than the Bone ninja and does not match the item description at all.
Luckily, the seller was responsive, and eventually after I mailed it right back and notified Amazon I got a full refund, including my return postage. Unfortunately, it belated a birthday present because I eventually ordered one from an eBay dealer at a slightly lower price than the first knock-off seller on Amazon.

Anyway, I thought I would LIST some of the COOL FEATURES of the actual Bone ninja USB drive so potential buyers could use it when contacting dealers to confirm they are selling the legitimate product:
1) 3-piece silicon "suit" exterior (separate from the actual removable USB drive inside) consisting of mask/shirt/pants, head/torso/arms, and sword/sheath/strap.
2) Bone brand logo imprinted on the headband, scabbard, back of head, and top of packaging.
3) Pants pull down to reveal hidden USB plug inside, and therefore the "cap" can not be easily lost. It almost looks like Ninja is sitting when plugged in.
4) Ball-bearing-like magnets inside small holes at the bottom of both fists, which allow the ninja to stick to metal surfaces.
5) Lanyard/keychain loop formed by the extra-thick ends of the ninja's headband.
6) When plugged into a USB port and exchanging data, the USB drive inside the ninja illuminates an LED light (red on mine) like a third eye beneath its headband. NOTE: this is very difficult to see through the black silicon despite holes built-in on both sides of the inner head.
7) Ninja appears to stand inside its packaging, a 4.25" tall clear hard plastic tube, which opens across the middle and has grey foam in its lower half.
5.0 out of 5 stars Cute little ninja will stealthily sneak into your computer! 23 Jan. 2014

I ordered this little ninja because a friend had one. Hers had magnets in the hands which make him "grip" the side of the computer. This one doesn't, but he's still cute. It works like any USB drive. The only thing to take note of is that, with his unusual shape, he will not fit into any usb port that is a tight fit between other connectors because his arms stick out. He doesn't fit well into my computer at work because of that, but it's ok. I just us a flash drive in the traditional shape and it fits ok. Then I use my ninja for other ports.

1.0 out of 5 stars Imitation products 6 July 2013

This seller is selling cheap imitations, knock offs. These are not the high quality well designed Bone Collection products that they pertain to be.
They open in a different manner.
Their hands do not have magnets.
The finish on the rubber is terribly rough.

It's a pity the originals can't be found easily on Amazon, as the real Bone Collection ones are really well designed.
4.0 out of 5 stars Cute item. 8 Jan. 2014

I used them - bought two - as stocking stuffers. My daughter and my son-in-law both loved them. They were happy with them even before they realized they were flash drives. My daughter likes it because it can sit on her desk and nobody will borrow it because it's not obvious that it's a flash drive. So, she can keep a flash drive handy for her own use.

I gave it only four stars because it's 4GB and 8 would be more useful
1.0 out of 5 stars Knock-off 7 Mar. 2013
By Ellen H - Published on Amazon.com

Unfortunately, because this is my second purchase of this type of USB, this product advertised by this seller is a knock off version. It shipped from China, with no product packaging and material is definitely inferior to the one I previously had. It also separates completely instead of coming apart at the waist halfway like pictured. Buyer beware.
