I have a number of friends who happen to be gay, I am not. It's a matter of choice. It seems particularly inappropriate to me in a book that is primarily aimed at young people. I think there should at least be some warning about the "gay" material, in the book description.
I know this is all supposed to be acceptable these days, but the vast majority of folk are heterosexual by choice. It's up to individuals to make their own choices, and we are still free to decide for ourselves.
Either state your preferences outright in the book description, or leave sex out of the stories please. I hate that it was kind of sneaked in by the back door. We don't all want to read about it, and this spoiled my reading of a book I would otherwise have enjoyed.

No actual plot progression for most of the book, at 40% in only about 2% moves the plot forward. There has been more progress about a new character on the other side of the world than the main characters. I'm sure this is a set up for the integration of the two characters, but still one out of every 20 pages may talk about moving forward with their plans. But most of that is in the form of meetings where nothing actually happens.
I will probably finish this off, or at least try to after I take a break and read another book.
Great character development, Poor plot development (talking about planning to do something isn't plot development, is it?).
Too much DRAMA!!!
