Great story. Needed it for Higher English. It is very complex and I feel I have learned a little insight to life in Nothern Ireland at the times of the troubles. Still got a lot of work to do and look forward to studing the book in more detail. Would recommend it as a title for English study.

This play is really excellent. It explores all sorts of themes, and has many symbols and motifs running through it. It a really good story, you want to read on a and find out more about what motivates these women. The play explores some very sinister themes, through the interactions of its four, fascinating, well developed characters. This play is well, well worth reading and it has some lovely monolouges in it.

What an amazing play this is! Munro has used her talents to produce a play that I am never going to forget in a long while and I am sure that many feel the same. It deals with many modern issues but none as important as the idea of truth. There is one speech that has made a hugh impact on me and that is the speech delievered by Deidre. " a wee bit of hard truth you can hold i your hand and point where you like." what a thought.....

I had to read this play in college, twice. The first time I had to read it I did not get into the play and was fairly bored by the mundaneness. However, the second time (and subsequent reads as I used this as the play I learnt for my Higher English Exams) I really got into it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth being 'forced' into reading it!
