About the Author
Pat McDermott’s novels, which are mainly set in Ireland, include tales of action/adventure, romance, and fantasy. The Glimmer Books, Glancing Through the Glimmer, Autumn Glimmer, and A Pot of Glimmer, are young adult paranormal adventures starring Ireland’s mischievous fairies and a royal family that might have been. The Glimmer Books are “prequels” to her popular Band of Roses Trilogy: A Band of Roses, Fiery Roses, and Salty Roses. Unholy Crossing is a ghost story set in Boston and Ireland. Her contemporary romances, The Rosewood Whistle and The Bogwood Horse, feature Ireland’s music and myths. Pat’s favorite non-writing activities include cooking, hiking, reading, and traveling, especially to Ireland. A native of Boston, Massachusetts, she lives and writes in New Hampshire, USA.

I loved the story line and the surprise revelation that was uncovered toward the end of the book, although it was hinted at early on in the book. It was wonderful to "meet" the same friends I initially met in "The Rosewood Whistle" and see how they were faring, as well as meeting a whole new cast of characters. Perhaps what made me even happier is that the book leaves plenty of room for it to become a trilogy; I am sure I'm not the only fan of Ms. McDermott's who would like to learn more about the progression of the lives of these particular characters.
I only have one negative thing to say about this book. It ended. It's like saying goodbye to an old friend, but at least I know where to find it, should I want to visit it again and I see at least several revisits in my future!
Once again...kudos and many thanks, Pat, for another incredible story that I did not want to put down once I picked it up. Your talent continues to astound me.
