Body Language' represents a return to a more adventurous direction for Kylie without losing that commercial sensibility cemented by her previous record 'Fever.'
Influences here include Urban beats, especially evident in the fantastic 'Secret (Take You Home') and 'Red Blooded Woman,' Electronic Hip POP represented by the truly kooky 'Sweet Music' and Prince-esque funk on 'I Feel For You.'
Kylie even slows the pace with a slice of RnB Electro on 'Chocolate,' the anthemic orchestral 'Loving days' (a MUST for a single)! and the sublime 'Someday' (featuring Green Gartside).
Body Language is an absoulote must have record which is on an entirely different level to her last album.

with the massive success of 'fever' kylie once again changed styles, and instead of making 'fever 2' she changed style once again for her 3rd album of the new millenium.

gone are the chunky trance beats, and in come smooth, soulful grooves. when first single from the album 'slow' was released, we all gasped and thought "what???" but as she jettisoned back to number 1 with it, we all released that kylie is no one trick pony, and 'slow' soon got into our heads and is a great opener to the album. kylie's vocals are much softer on this album, and the production is a polished affair. the best example is standout track 'chocolate' kylie's whispering vocals, over smooth beats, and great instumentation make for one of kylie's beat ever tracks, and the catchy r'n'b pop smash 'red blooded woman' is up there as one of the all time great pop songs.

the ms dynamite penned track 'secret' is a great track that should have been a single, and 'someday' is a great song, and has more than a two fingers up to her ex loverat boyfriend james gooding. this is a smooth, accomplished album which mixes commercial and critical success with ease. even trendy music magazine Q had this album listed in their top 50 albums of 2003. if you havent got this album, get it..if you have got it, dust it off and pop it into your cd player...it sounds as fresh today as it did in 2003

Well. First, this is not her best album, but, i have to say this, I'm still waiting for her best album!!!. Don't get me wrong!! I'm her fan since ages!!! Have all the albums, all the DVD's, all the mixes.....This is what i think:
The songs are good, i'd say even better than the ones on "Fever" with the obvious exception of CGYOOMH, which as you all know is excellent....But to be fair, "Slow" is an OUTSTANDING track!!!. That techno 80's Atari-sound-like is quite adorable.....
Other goods: Secret (must be a single), Chocolate (must be a single too), Loving days (goody goody).....
Hey people, let's admit Kylie is a pop entertainment number....a long one cause she's in business for 15 years now.....but she's not a genius, she never was one....and she never acted as one. But she's here, she's doing very good, she's a good singer (again she never said she was THE VOICE).
And i would say this product is good, better produced than "Fever", with better lyrics (worst it would not be possible) and more spirit than a bunch of pop acts around. Finally, at least "she is with the music and not against it", like some "rebels" and thank God she's not as "Dirrrty" as some cute girls whose torture-voices and crap-music are like being dead and keep getting sick.
Buy it and give it a chance, you'll enjoy it!!

Whilst i really did like Fever and Light Years - they were great albums in a pure comemrcial pop sort of way - i always hoped one day Kylie would move back to the sounds played with on Kylie Minogue and Impossible Princess. I didn't think it would happen - the public seem to prefer "Pop Kylie", but i think with this album, she has achieved the happy medium - something that will appeal to all her fans, past and present.
I was initially worried, having heard rumours about r'n'b and 80s sounds ..... there is a definate r'n'b influence over virtually all of the tracks (Slow is not that representative of the album), but it is only an influence, and Kylie hasn't completely launched onto the bandwagon and released something that doesn't suit her. Quite the contrary ... the tracks actually sound less r'n'b the more times you play them, and then you will uncover an album full of gems.
There are no instant "In Your Eyes" / "Love At First Sight" single contenders. But whereas Fever had very little else to offer in addition to the singles, virtually every track on this album would rate 8/10 or more in my book. There's not one stinker (a la Give It To Me, Dancefloor, Loveboat, If I Was Your Lover...). Still Standing is the worst track, and as this is a cover song, other people might well disagree with me here. For me, the gems of this album are:
1. Loving Days - one of the best Kylie songs ever - a cross between Madonna's Frozen (intro) and Dreams (Impossible Princess). This HAS to be a single
2. Secret (Take You Home) - sounds a bit strange and "young" initially, but heaps of attitude and she can actually rap well.
3. Red Blooded Woman - this seems to have split fans, but IMO is very light, r'n'b in a tuneful way, and another single contender
4.
