Product Description

Review

While internet technology provides us with a myriad of information, a seeker often gets lost, confused, and overwhelmed. Such is the case faced by many of my patients who are in a quest to find answers to their physical and mental ailments. Donna Gates' 'Body Ecology Diet' is not only a succinct compilation of effective health information, equivalent to reading dozens of related books, it also provides a well versed program ushering the reader on a path to greater wellness. Donna's insights will shine a ray of light to many who are at lost.
- Dr. Taisuke Jo DC, DIBAK .

Donna Gates has opened my mind up to new and amazing alternatives and possibilities to healing. Never did I know and fully understand the power food has in regards to healing the body. Not only is the book educational for a better life but the food is DELICIOUS! Who knew healthy food could be so good?!
- Tia Mowry, Actress.

I have seen Donna Gates and her Body Ecology program greatly improve health in all age ranges, from children with autism to healthy aging in senior citizens when they stick with the program for a few months. Her plant-based organic food diet, with an emphasis on fermented foods, is ideal for building a healthy intestinal tract, which is the foundation for optimum health and well-being.
- Leonard Smith, M.D., renowned gastrointestinal, vascular and general surgeon, and expert in the field of nutrition and natural supplementation.

Body Ecology emphasizes the importance of what we put into our bodies and teaches a way of eating that makes me feel like I am in control of my health and in tune with my body's intuitive needs. Cultured vegetables and coconut kefir have become essentials, not only in my home, but whenever I travel.
- Jessica Biel, Actress.

A few years ago I attended a week long workshop with Donna Gates. It was an eye opening experience as she shared simple but powerful principles for attaining and maintaining a super healthy body. One of the most important things in the workshop was that Donna fed us breakfast and lunch. We were able to taste and experience how delicious the fermented foods were. Everyone enjoyed her way of cooking and delighted to take her recipes and probiotic nutrition home with them. I have been a follower ever since and at 84 am enjoying vibrant health.
- Louise L. Hay, the "New York Times" best-selling author of "You Can Heal Your Life."

Donna Gates has fused ancient wisdom with modern science to develop the most powerful eating program on the planet today. The Body Ecology Diet is a complete system of living that consciously brings the love of eating into your home. It's not about weight loss...it's about health gain.
- Dr. Darren Weissman, author of "Awakening to the Secret Code of Your Mind."

The Body Ecology Diet is easy to understand and chock full of practical information. I recommend it!
- William G. Crook M.D., author of "The Yeast Connection" and "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome."

The Body Ecology Diet brings us into the era of whole-body therapy. I don't think the authors left anything out.
- Lendon H. Smith M.D., Author of "Feed Your Kids Right, Feed Yourself Right," and co-author of "Beyond Antibiotics."

Whilst I do subscribe to & agree with most of the ideas in the book (& those I disagree with, I'm not really fussed about, as the diet is still a great way to kick out leaky gut issues), I am sorely disappointed in the book.

It is an entire book explaining the theories of the diet. I know the theories behind it - I can read them online. In fact if I didn't know the theory, I wouldn't have been interested in the book! Apart from a three-page shopping list (which is useless - anyone considering other family members isn't going to be able to buy all that in one go), there is no guide as to how to actually progress through or even start the diet. It's an entire book of information with no step-by-step, no intro diet, no day plans, no suggested foods in week one, no guidance whatsoever. I'm not dense, I can probably put it together if I read through the entire book twice (the author's suggestion!), but what's the point in a book which tells you only what's already on the website & gives you no actual useable, realistic guidance?

I was so excited about reading this. Two thirds of the way in i'm loving it. Very clear and easy to read and informative.

Last third of the book 'so in order to eat well, along with your meal make sure you have my $80 supplement, and with the second course my $160 supplement and if you feel like pudding, don't bother, just have my supplement only costing you $320'.

Be VERY warned - this is for either a celebrity or someone with immense wealth. Even to get started you have to buy her products. It's such a sham. To successfully follow this diet you need a lot of money. Don't read this if you've not got and extra 10k to invest in just your diet.

Just try and quit sugar. Thats what all diets come down to. And also, everyone is individual. I think if your really serious about dieting read one top book on each of the popular diets and from them all string them into one individual diet that works for your body.

This book is aimed at the American market and many of the products promoted are not available in the UK. It is written by two people which might explain why it seems repetitive and disjointed. The premise of the Body Ecology Diet is a mixture of other eating regimes; food combining, blood type, acid/alkali, cutting out sugar to prevent yeast growth and adding in fermented foods as the magic bullet. I would not recommend this book to UK buyers.

This is THE book to get if you want to heal your gut, I love it. The other main book is the GAPS diet which I found impossibly hard to implement, especially as I don't like meat. But the BED is easier and to my mind, just as effective. It's easier to read and understand too. GAPS is certainly effective, don't get me wrong, but the best protocol in the world won't help you if you can't make it work in real life. I'd go with this one every time, it's a winner.

Like some American reviewers, I too have now got fed up with the authors endless plugging of their products and website. Of course, they are entitled to promote their goods and services, but not ad nauseam!

I also think they do not make clear that success with cultured vegetables means ensuring they are covered with liquid, otherwise they will go mouldy. In addition, I have also found a few other contradictions that now make me question much else.

As with all these books, they should not be taken as gospel but should be tried with caution.

Although I have now made some cultured vegetables, I am still concerned that Chaitow and others counsel us (allergies through food intolerance) not to take fermented food for a while, yet this book is positively evangelistic about it. All very confusing (and expensive when you end up throwing food away!).

So more research for me!

There are a lot of good recipes in here, and following the diet/diets will probably lead to improved health for many people - so far so good.
I wanted to say this in a nice way, but ... - it is almost like the author just made up some of the reasoning behind the recomendations - it is far from evidence based - that being said her recommendations are not that bad, just her reasoning.

I am still reading this but so far think it is a really valuable book for anyone trying to regain their health. I would have liked to see more in the recipe section. For people like myself recovering from serious illness and using diet as a key tool in that quest, anything that expands the repertoire of recipes using the right foods is a real boon. The 7 principles are great and erhaps i'll say more when I have finished the book.

Brilliant book by Donna Gates. I also have Dr Natasha Campbell Mcbrides book. She came to the same conclusion from England, which proves their theories are correct, I think. Great buy for anyone wanting to go to the next level.
