The performances by the actors were top notch especially the lead detective played by Jose Coronado.
This intelligent and very gripping movie made search for other works by the same director and I highly recommend his other thriller made in 2016 called ( Contratiempo....or The Invisible Guest ) as it also didn't disappoint regarding its haunting setting and acting.
After enjoying the orphanage and Julie eyes I was interested to see what this film had in store.
Without giving too much away the film is about a body of a woman which strangely disappear. The police attention is drawn to the wife husband (who as we learn is having an affair) and when strange bits of evidence start appearing the blame is point to the
The film explores how the women died and the reasons why the body was taken.
A similar theme to the film the usual suspect which keeps you guessing right to the end.
Just once in a while I'd like to see a film which doesn't show someone throwing up in a toilet. Someone should let directors know that foot scenes and spewing scenes are not mandatory.
The film is mostly set in the morgue, allowing for some seriously creepy moments, but there are also flashbacks, mainly of the husband and the deceased and their unusual marriage.
This is a clever, gripping, fast-moving Spanish thriller with English subtitles. Sometimes it is a little confusing to read and understand because of the rapid conversations and twisting plot, but it never spoils the enjoyment although its films like this that make me wish I could speak Spanish. Catch it if you can.
Even if you don't like subtitled films it is worth going with this one. An English language remake is a distinct possibility I think, but watch this one anyway just in case that doesn't happen.
