The book is told from dual point of view, Rafe, a billionaire who knows what he wants, and Sophie, a single mom and interior designer, both clearly have a connection and while they have a few challenges and secrets to get through first, the dual views clearly showed the characters’ growth and mutual feelings. As with all books, at times with characters they can frustrate you a little but I always see that as a good thing that an author can evoke such feelings from a reader.
I have a soft spot in my heart for this book as it was the first book I ever read on Kindle a few years ago which reignited my passion for reading and is one that I still remember and go back to when I’m looking for a sweet and light read. I can’t recommend enough to contemporary romance fans.
Rafe is a very wealthy and powerful self made man, his parents abandoned him into the care of others and he's never forgiven them for that. It 's what drives him to be who he is. One very windy morning he noticed a gorgeous blonde struggling by the side of the road, he knows her, she used to work for his bitch of an ex-wife, so he pulls in to help, only to have her sign smash into his very expensive car. He's intrigued by her and decides to hire her to do the interiors of the very large home he's building. Sophie can't believe her luck, but when it becomes apparent Rafe wants more than just her design services, Sophie backs off. She wants to project a confident professional business woman to him so she decided not to tell him about her daughter only to find out that he has some serious issues with abandonment, she need this job to make her dreams come true, but the closer they get the more difficult it becomes.
This is a great read, you really feel the frustrations of the two main characters and then there are times when you just want to bang their head together.
Would I bother paying for more by the same author. Really not sure.
Was expecting the usual kind of erotic bonkfest that you get on the free list quite often which don't have much substance but was pleasantly surprised when i discovered it was a proper full length novel with an actual storyline to it.
Without giving too much away its about a young woman who is setting up a decorating and design business on her own who meets a guy when her new shop sign gets caught by the wind and smashes his car up. He recognises her as someone who used to work for his wife and asks her to to look over his new place thats being built to see what her ideas are like and there is an attraction between them. Wanna know more download it you won't be disappointed. Lets just say if Rafe turned up on my doorstep tomorrow, i wouldn't chuck him out in a hurry!
The story of Sophie and Rafe was interesting and well rounded. The one sex scene was well written and refreshingly explicit without all the coarse words I get tired of reading.
I found Kris's interior design details interesting but one of the best things was her description of the New Zealand landscape. It is a country I've always wanted to visit and Kris made the beauty of the place easy to imagine.
Lastly, there were no proofreading or editing errors which is a big plus for me.
I highly recommend this wonderful, warm love story and unbelievably, it was free!
