This has definitely been one of my most anticipated releases of 2017 and it didn't disappoint. Arrow stole a piece of my heart in #Junkie and #Rev where we first meet him and I couldn't wait for his story.
“I didn’t think I’d ever be whole, but a little less broken might be nice.”
This is Arrow's and Hopper's story and it's equally each of their story. It's a complex, emotional story that you just have to experience it, I don't really want to say much because I don't want to give it a way. But this story is so damn good. It's a million puzzle pieces that takes time, isn't always easy but fits so beautifully together.
We're still in the world of car racing but this is different to the others for me, it just is. It's so much more than just the sports, it's more than just romance it's those two combined with life.
I loved Hopper and Arrow together and individually, I expected to love them but I didn't expect them to leave me breathless, for their individual stories to have my stomach in knots and reading some parts from behind my hands, for them to be fighting Drew and Trent for my favorite couple in this series. Life had took many hits at these two and it had left them a little broken but their broken parts fit together perfectly.
“It was scary to let someone in. In your heart. In your mind. In your body.”
My only reason this isn't 5 stars -- Because it's 5 stars worthy -- is while the emotion that this book was laced with made the story, there were just sometimes where I wish Arrow and Hopper just had moments to be. To be together, and have lighter moments. But the writing, the style in which this story was told and the story itself was brilliant and if this is the last book in the series, what a way to conclude it. I'll finish this review off by saying I really hope this isn't the last of Cambria Hebert writing MM Because hers are some of my top favorites.
I have wanted to know arrows story since we first met him, and secretly wanted to know if he actually wanted to be biebs!
Arrows and hoppers backgrounds explain so much about them that you understand why they are how they are.
In the present their story is sweet and lovely. I couldn't imagine two people who fit together so easily! Even if they feel broken!
Oh I love them!
Cambria you have done another amazing book! Thankyou. I love both of them, this book is lovely and awesome as the others!!
And the 'things that make you go WTF' are awesome Cambria I have no idea how you choose these for your books lol!
This was not just a love story it was so much more. Love lost, abuse, rape and infinity.
Arrow and Hoppers story was one of my top books of this year. It covered so many different topics. There was however a downfall. I felt it was unfinished in a way. What happened to the men that killed Matt? Did Hopper reconnect with his family? Was there any jail time given to the man that raped Arrow? This is why I gave it only 4 stars.
Other than some unanswered questions I truly loved these two broken men. To find this kind of love after what they had both been through was amazing. I loved seeing Drew and Trent and their acceptance of this relationship before it was even that. How they truly cared for Arrow and looked out for him. I think we saw a side to Lorhaven here aswell. His love for his brother and willingness to do anything to protect him. Overall this was a great book but could have done with an epilogue maybe.
Dylan AKA Arrow has had nothing but heartache until recently. Now he has to make a decision about his future. He does not want to bring in more pain to those he loves, so he has put off stating his own wants.
Jason AKA Hopper is attracted to Arrow. Everytime they are in the same room, it hums with electricity. Before they get burned, can they choose to make a future?
This was a bittersweet story. So much pain. So many things broken. Well written, and full of sparks flying. I loved the honesty of the characters and how they sync so well. This is really a great addition to the Gearshark series.
He has a big career choice to make whilst struggling to be true to himself and allowing himself to get the love he so truly deserves.
I have already purchased the next book and can't wait to read.
