For only the first time I feel unhappy with this collection of blues from the normally magnificent Mr West. Only three tracks really caught my attention.
Perhaps I was looking for another "Got Blooze" - which is one of my albums of the last decade - but surely Leslie can be forgiven for one let down after all this time?
"Blue Me" makes up for it anyway.

If you're a fan of Leslie West/Mountain there 7 or 8 good blues standards on this CD to enjoy, but some fillers at the end. If you're looking for another 'Got Blooze' then it doesn't quite reach that standard.

4.0 out of 5 stars This will smoke your shorts 6 Nov. 2004

Whatever "it" is, Mountain man Leslie West still has it. There's some seriously kickin guitar work here to go along with Leslie "sound of pure evil" vocals. I don't understand why he's not getting the same exposure as other supposed guitar heroes. Labels should be beating down his door and offering him the chance to rip it up in the studio every month without fail. Blues fans should be worshipping at the alter of the Great Not As Fatsby. Virgins should be dancing and the little children laughing and playing in the streets. This is the blues, baby!

5.0 out of 5 stars Crunch...Bite...Wow 27 Jun. 2004

The best blues I have heard from anyone in years, perhaps ever. If you like blues with an attitude, you will not be disappointed. Those humbuckers do crunch and so does Leslie's voice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Boom Boom... 26 Aug. 2004
By Christopher A. Chausse - Published on Amazon.com

I know nothing about RIFFs and all that musician stuff. I just like to hear guys jammin and having a good time. I don't care if it fades out and I don't care if they play only 3 chords. All I care is that it makes my foot stomp while I'm driving and makes me smile and bop my head a bit. This guy does that to me and also produces the absolute best, most intense, foot stompin and kick a$$ version of Boom Boom I've ever heard. Thanks Leslie - keep em coming!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reminds me of the old days - kick as*, raw and hard 14 Sept. 2004

Get ready for the charge of the West brigade

I just got this and am thrilled by this CD. Leslie and really still do it and it has b*alls, power, emotion, fire and just raw, hard nosed blues. My favorite.

Leslie hasn't last it a bit, his selections of songs are great. It is also great for a blues guitarist to play along with.

Simple, rough, in your face great hard edged blues. If you like musicians like Alvin Lee, Johnny Winter, you will love this.

By the way, who is this nerd whose posting should be eleminated about this bozo's fade out obsession. He says the same thing about Winter, knows nothing, and he really pulls down the reviews for the great artists. If this guy had an IQ of 10, he would know that every single audio software that I know of can make his little songs end up with fadeouts, non-fadeoouts, delays, non-delays.

I would like Amazon to take this child Daniel Anderson from (Unley Park, SA Australia) and remove all his non-reviews and learn how to fade-out songs any way he likes. Audio software 1.

Jon

5.0 out of 5 stars In the Top 3 best blues works 28 Jun. 2004
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com

After hearing this CD, you'll be asking "how could they make this CD so inexpensively?" This is w/o a doubt one of the best electric blues albums you'll ever hear. I'm a life long Clapton fan, but Eric can't touch this. I GOT THE BLUES should have been the first track. BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN has just West and his guitar showing all his true inner talent. This is a must have...
