Another rattling good novel from this highly original author. Every single page drips with adventure whilst at the same time challenging your own thought process on the society we live in, and have created. If that all sounds a bit heavy! fear not, kids and adults will enjoy this equally. The story itself is engaging from first page to last. Too many novels i have read drone on with unnecessary narrative, boring me to death until something actually happens, thankfully Will Hadcroft never falls into this trap. Writing the story in "first person" gives it energy and helps get the underlying messages through. I couldn't help trying to second guess what was coming in the next chapter.

The story builds and builds into an inevitable catastrophic conclusion, all the time leaving you wondering, is it real? A dream? a parallel universe?

An enormous millstone cascading down a mountain, schools at war with each other fighting with acid fuelled water pistols, a religion where followers worship the holy steamroller !!!! Whatever goes on inside Will's head, he manages to download it into wonderfully crafted stories. Enjoy !! "See yer, don't wanna be yer !"

I just finished `The Blueprint' last night, it's been my bedtime book for the last few weeks and I just want to thank Will Hadcroft for making me wake up every morning full of joy and happiness- joy and happiness for knowing that I won't have to go to school today nor ever again! It brought back so many memories of the stifling, narrow minded, tedious and insufferably dull school days of my childhood and I am so glad to discover that I wasn't the only one to have felt the way I did! I think this novel is a wonderful achievement and deserves to be in every school library and made into a children's drama serial, sadly I think it will be regarded as far too subversive to ever get commissioned- which in it's self is a huge recommendation!
