Sadly a blueprint mandate is presumptive and fails to deliver much more than basic retelling. It lacks cultural translation and practical application. Maybe it's a brilliant, but for the very least it has the wrong title, also! A little adrift from the potential it could have realised.
Invaluable for all evangelists and leaders, it shines a light on John Wesley's trials, helping us understand that suffering lies, deceit and rejection are often the cost of following Jesus Christ.
Taking excerpts from the Wesleys' diaries, you'll soon find yourself walking alongside them in the 18th century asking God "what if this could happen again?"
Initailly, it provides a detailed insight of the life and philosophy of John Wesley for those who want to read a short biography.
Simultaneously, it is a textbook for people who want to understand in more depth the beliefs of Wesley and how relevant his life's work still is today. The analysis of Wesley's life shows us what a great teacher this man was.
Finally, by pointing out ways in which his teachings and leadership can be continued and expanded, Mark ensures that his book is re-read by teachers and puplis alike.
