So you have had a great shave, you're feeling good. Next time, ramp it up a notch or ten with The Bluebeards Revenge Pre-Shave Oil. Designed to moisturise your beard prior to applying your favourite Bluebeards Revenge shaving cream, the pre-shave oil helps your razor do all the hard work providing a smoother shaving experience and doing it's own bit to eliminate nicks and bumps. To use massage a splash of oil into your beard until it is barely visible as just a sheen, then get to work lathering up with a quality shaving cream. Shave and enjoy.
Beginning with The Bluebeards Revenge Luxury shaving cream. The Bluebeards Revenge range of products were developed by a real life ‘Blue Beard’ (defined as those who get a five o’clock shadow by lunchtime), who became fed up with the inability of the current crop of mass produced stuff to do a half decent job. So not satisfied with the status quo, got of his backside and created The Bluebeards Revenge ‘For Real Men’.

I normally prefer Art of Shaving oil, and I think I'll be going back to that after this has run out.
As Trumper is the only product I have used for pre-shave treatment since I began wet shaving with a DE safety razor, about 4 years ago, I wasn't sure what to expect.
At first touch, it was certainly more gloopy than the Trumper product and definitely went on thicker. It also doesn't have a very strong smell, slightly lemony, really. As I rubbed it into my stubble it seemed to get thicker and more resistant, and I was beginning to wonder whether it would actually provide for extra glide action.
After applying my Trumpers Sandalwood shaving soap and beginning to shave, by gum, it did present a better opportunity of a closer shave. When the shave was complete, I did not have to go over my usual trouble spots again; they were taken care of the first time around. And I didn't have my usual irritation that I get at my collar line on my throat area. I normally have to follow up with some alum block, but it was not needed this time.
I followed the shave up with Bluebeards Revenge post shave balm - will write that up as well - which I was pleasantly surprised by, too. So the Bluebeards Revenge lot have a new customer. It's too bad I have another two years left in my Trumpers shaving soap (which lasts forever, this is only my second one), or I should be sampling their other shaving products.
I wouldn't buy it again but judging by other peoples feed back many do like it.
You put it on before you apply your shaving foam/gel/cream of your choice and it helps the razor glide. I think its aimed at people who shave with a straight razor or safety razor rarther then a cartridge razor i.e mack3.
I now refuse to shave without putting this on first as now you really notice when you forget to apply it. I really recommend it anyone who wants to enjoy having a nice clean shave
I say this because its not a miracle solution to razor burn. I've always suffered with some razor burn, and still do using this. However, it certainly helps, and that's all I expected to be honest.
Bluebeards Revenge make some good grooming products. I can highly recommend the Scimitar razor too.
Its almost like an olive oil mixture and very little is needed to do the job.
Simply warm your face and apply and work it in. I've found it's best to apply it and leave it for a while as it works to soften up your hair and skin.
Now as with many techniques we all have our preferred method and for me leaving on for a while works well.

Certainly helps with a smoother shave. I was using Proraso pre and post cream before buying this and the oil is better IMHO. Read morePublished 26 days ago by Sam

Is it essentially olive oil with a spritz of lemon in it? Yes it is (check the ingredients). Not a massive fan of the smell or texture. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Amazon Customer
