This is a well-written book that is much more than a hot and steamy, mature audience romance and sex story. For readers looking for good writing on topics similar to Suzie Bright’s books, but with a plot and a story of intrigue, this is going to please many. Although primarily oriented towards women, I suspect this will appeal to many men.
Length: Print, 66 pages.
Target Audience/Genre: This is targeted especially to Adult Women readers who love Romance and Mystery with women heroines.
Q - What was the Amazon Rank on the date this review was published?
A – 55th among free Kindle books.
Q - How was this book obtained?
A – Purchased through Amazon.
Q - Is this a book that I can read without having to read others first?
A – Yes. Beware though, of the author’s own warning that the Blue Room Confidential series is a spin-off of her series, The Blue Room. As such, there may be spoilers for those who read booklets in the Confidential series before reading the books in the Blue Room series.
Q - Are there a lot of typos/misspellings, grammatical errors or other editing failures?
A – No.
Q - Is this a fast, easy read or is it more of a leisure read?
A – Quick, easy read. Perfect for commuting or for the lunch hour.
Q - What sort of language does this writer use to amplify the points made?
A – Adult English, including f-bombs and other profanities.
Q - My biggest pleasure or disappointment?
A – The snappy delivery is better than expected. There is little or no character growth, but there are some surprising and funny twists littered throughout, even in the prologue.
To give a feel for the editing, and the style and flow of this work, I am posting a brief excerpt below. Note that it is extremely brief due to the short length of the booklet. I felt it essential to get a look at this author’s snappy, yet descriptive, cadence in her writing.
“I've been looking further into Rita's journal, into all her belongings that I was able to pick up from the clinic, and – gosh... this woman, Xander. You have no idea how many secrets she has. She left them for me – all for me – and although we thought we knew her, we only knew the tip of the iceberg. But Rita knew Jaymie. Trusted her. And Rita knew a lot of things, too, things she never told you – about the Blue Room...”
“What are you talking about?” I'm concerned. “I hired Rita to investigate all these things. Why wouldn't she tell me all about it? I was her boss.”
Staci sighs. “Because,” she says, “she couldn't. She was killed before she got a chance to sit down with you properly to show you what she found out or talk to you about it. I'm still doing as much digging as I can, trying to make sense of the few clues I have. I let you know what I find if I find anything conclusive. I don't want to weigh you down with hypotheticals. You have so much on your plate now as it is. I won't bore you with hunches and guesses and speculations that might lead to nowhere. But when I have something concrete, Xander, I promise: you'll be the first to know. Now... can I talk to Terrence?”
My stomach knots at the sound of his name. Terrence. I grimace. Of course she wants to talk to him, not me. Of course he's the one that matters to her. I stifle a groan and try to push the pain in my heart away.
“All right, Staci,” I say, sighing. “It's just good to hear from you, Staci.”
It's good to hear from you too, Xander,” she says, sadly.
If you ever need anything, anything at all, please let me know.”

I was reading halfway through this new one, and thinking that this series/spinoff might be getting a little boring to me....but as I reach closer to the end of this book "BOOM" a big surprise was dropped. I'm back to wanting to read the next part NOW, and thinking that this series/spinoff might be getting a little boring to me....but reach the end of part 1 "BOOM" a big surprise was dropped and just like that I back to wanting to read the next part now!!!
Hopefully the next one will come out in September.
My only wish/complaint is for each of the Vol's to have a few more pages for us to read at a time!
I loved how soo much happens within this first novella that it seems like so much more than the 66 pages. I can honestly say that it was soo hot I was fanning myself after reading... Best part was that twisted cliff hanger! Cannot wait till the next part comes out!
