The Snowball USB microphone family from Blue Microphones is the number one selling line of USB wired condenser microphones on the planet. Their unique design and proprietary condenser capsules deliver legendary sound for everything from podcasting to recording instruments. The Snowball iCE benefits from Blue’s legendary professional audio heritage to record at a level unmatched anywhere.
It's never been easier to get high quality audio with your computer! Home, office, anywhere — the Snowball iCE USB microphone delivers audio quality that's light years ahead of your computer's built-in microphone. Its custom condenser capsule with cardioid pattern offers crystal clear audio for communicating, creating, and recording. Also plug n' play for PC and Mac, Snowball iCE requires no drivers.
The Snowball iCE features a unique swivel mount located on the bottom center of the mic body. Be sure to mount the Snowball iCE on its included desktop stand or on a standard-thread counter-weighted tripod mic stand. For reduction of low-frequency rumble and additional positioning options, mount the Snowball iCE in the Blue Ringer, available separately. Be sure to position the Snowball iCE over the center leg of the stand to further prevent tipping. Once mounted, you can gently pivot the Snowball iCE back and forth for optimum positioning in front of the sound source. Once safely mounted, connect the Snowball iCE to the USB port on your Macintosh or Windows computer (the Snowball iCE is USB 1.0 and 2.0 compatible). If you’re using an iPad, you’ll need Apple’s iPad Camera Connection Kit for USB connectivity. Make sure that the active, on-axis side of the diaphragm (the side with the Blue logo) is facing the desired source. When connected, the LED just above the Blue logo will glow red, indicating power has reached the Snowball iCE and it is ready to record. Now you’re ready to set up your Snowball iCE on either your Mac or PC.
After extensive testing by engineers, Snowball iCE has been certified by Skype for providing both exceptional clarity and a guaranteed optimal Skype experience.

- Compact form factor. They've managed to fit an incredibly good condenser microphone and stand in a small box for a great price here. It fits excellently on my desk.
- Sound quality. After using both IM applications and also music production software, i've found the microphone can deal with both voice instruments very effectivley. Very good for acoustic instruments.
- Price. It may seem a bit expensive, but for the quality of the product it is worth it. Stellar build quality, great sound and a great size. All of these make it worth the full price.
- The red light always being on is somewhat irritating, but thats how picky im having to be about con's for this microphone.
I'd recommed buying a pop filter which are really cheap and help enhance your recording by removing Popping and harsh sounds. Also to keep your Mic's Diaphragm clean from plosives
I recorded a few seconds to hear it for myself, and I must say, it's great.
I'm giving this a 5 Star review. It's worth the money, and i'd say it could be better than some of the other HD microphones which are worth much more. If you're looking for a microphone under £100, this is a great one to consider.
So when I first picked up the snowball it felt pretty good. It has a nice weight to it and I think it could withstand some hits if you’re gonna use it for something else. On the front you got the Blue logo and above that you have a red led that lights up when the mic is plugged in. Most of the mic is plastic except this wire mesh that you have. On the back all you have is the USB B connector to connect to the computer. Now that we’ve talked about the physical aspect of the mic now let’s see what matters the sound. Before that though I wanna mention that the mic is plug and play so once you connect it to the computer it can be used straight away.
I’ve been using the snowball for a couple weeks and I must say I'm dissapointed. I was expecting to hear decent audio quality but instead I think the mic sounds not so good. I reviewed the Samson GoMic before that costs $40 and I think it sounds much better. You guys can make up your own opinion but I don’t like the quality of the audio and that’s all that matters. If you were planning on getting this I think you should instead go get the samson go mic since it’s much better for the money. I'm no professional at audio . I'm a normal human with standard ears and so is everyone else I know what's using seperate mics had enough of headphone audio get picked up through the built in mic .
A fair few of us have blue mics snowballs/ yeties / snowflakes / samson go mics and meteors and even one with a razer mic costing 150 and to be honest we all sound around the same ish quality.
Given the difference in setup and placement as that counts just as much I have a mic boom and pop filter In a heavily wallpapered room 16x14 foot in size
this mic is all I could get in black at the time and is the only reason for buying it.
I get excellent audio clarity talking to my buddies it picks up my voice and projects it out there rather well
If I wanted better quality than this only an £80 AT2020 and a beringer usb mixer costing £40 and a £20 beringer phantom psu is the way to go . Not a yeti or a razer . My sources are common sense and youtube I would like to recommend all mics mentioned as good mics.
the blue snowball the samson go and meteor mics as I listen to them daily and the price is right for any of the 3 . The yeti and razer is hard to recommend when better can be had for the same price
