Can someone help? I'm trying to track down a similar book to this one (Complete "Come and Praise"). When I was at school - 1987-1994 we had a blue pocket-size, hardback hymn book which i thought was called 'hymns old and new' but can't seem to find a copy, of an exact replica of the cover online.

All I recall was that it had about 700 hymns in there, no ordering by type or annual and was typical for Anglican services.

If anyone can shed any light on this I would be grateful.

Kind regards,

Matthew Bennett

I cannot help you, but can tell you I know the book you mean - I went to a C of E school during the 80's and had the same one, it had brilliant hymns in it about autumn - something about the fur inside a chestnut shell (all these things we love so well) and I also remember one about God of Concrete God of Steel that had airoplanes and rockets in it!

Nathan says:
The 80's book was called Come and Praise, blue cover, but it wasn't hard back.

And to the post above..... jet planes meeting in the air to be refuelled....
