Product Description

Television drama starring Max Beesley and Emma Pierson. Justine Hopkin (Pierson) is a strong-willed and ambitious young police officer. She has set her heart on promotion to the murder squad. Her father used to be a murder detective - until he was convicted of killing a suspect in custody. Justine and her brother Mark were just children when he was jailed for murder, and they haven't seen him since. A series of murders and her father's release from prison points to Justine's father being guilty. In a race against time Justine decides to do some investigating of her own, but her determination to get to the truth triggers a series of tragic events.

There is a glut of cop dramas out there and most are not worth the time taking the dvd out of the case for. However, this one bucks that trend and keeps the viewer interested through both of the 2 parts.

The actors are well cast (Emma Pierson aside from being "hot") is strong enough and does carry this drama throughout. A younger Max Beesley (this was made in 2004) hints at his ability to star in future dramas and series as well.

The rest of the cast are first rate and the locations in London's Soho keep the gritty aspect of the drama going.

Well done.

HASH(0x9b2c60b4) out of 5 stars 3.5 Decent Movie until the end 24 July 2014

I found the end ... disappointing, but the suspense was reasonably well done. The story was decent, if somewhat predictable.

Justine's a likeable character. Even the side characters, Jake, Mark, Jordan, Hopkins, were reasonably drawn out.

The mystery unfolds over 2, one hr mini-movies.

Conclusion: It's worth a look, but I don't know if I'd place it on the top-100 list or anything.

HASH(0x9b9c1888) out of 5 stars It was a decent effort-- if a bit corny 27 Nov. 2008
By Lemas Mitchell - Published on Amazon.com

And I guess if you are English/ Scottish, then this makes sense to you. But how many American people can imagine some police going in to a drug raid and an unarmed police officer chasing a suspect carrying a 9mm and physically pushing him to the ground- and that being enough to bring the suspect in?

That one scene took the movie down about a star.

The other problem is that the suspense was drawn out a bit too much. Did it really take that long for the characters to reveal their secrets?

It is worth watching once, but not twice. Worth buying secondhand or renting for an evening, but NOT new.
