Another great book, it may just be better than the first one. Once I opened it, I had to read more. The blood vivicanti are like vampires, but not your usual kind. It makes for a great read because you can't tell where it's going. A must read.

Grabs again with his unique style, pulls you in and once again leaves you - like its heroine - wanting more. The heroine is a broken, dysfunctional type, almost like the anti-hero vigilante type super heroes of the comic book era.

It's thrilling to get a little more of the story and meet Wyn and Theo. Mary Paige is discovering the light and dark side of being a Blood Vivicanti. She is more powerful than the rest due to her photographic, allowing her to keep the Blood Memories forever. But Wyn and Theo have their own strengths and weaknesses that makes me hope to get more of a peek at them in the next books.

I love how Becket explores what a haunting past can do to someone with powers like Mary Paige's.

Becket has a knack for helping you see the depth of his characters in a poetic and musical prose. The story is well-paced and makes you want to just stay until you finish. I don't want to leave the Blood Vivicanti world and will likely re-read them all when the series is done.

It's great that he is serializing this but the suspense is killing me. I can't wait to see how Mary Paige next explores her Blood Vivicanti-ness.
