I'm not a big fan of vampire fiction, but I have been downloading free books for my kindle and this sounded interesting. Suprisingly I really enjoyed it!! Have just come back from a weekend away and started it on the journey down and finished it yesterday, it is a pacy read and is an easy and enjoyable book. My advice is get it while it is still free. Would be happy to read more by the author.

This was my first book for my Kindle and was Free! I was rather skeptical. Well all I can say is I am totally amazed. 'The Blood that Bonds' was an unstoppable read. The characters are believeable and the story is fast paced. I cannot wait for the sequel 'Blood Hunt' Looking forward to what Two gets up to next.

I enjoyed this book, a little different from your usual vampire story, but I won't give too much away. I did have a tear in my eye a couple of times. A short book but well worth reading, I didnt realise there was a sequel, I must check it out now.

I started reading vampire fiction, along with a lot of other girls, in my teenage years. I'm in my early 20s now and have ripped through a fair few of the genre. These stories can quickly become samey and therefore boring.

To the author's credit there are some novel ideas. However, it lacked the level of depth that makes books of this genre stand apart. I felt it hard to identify with, or even like, the female lead at times. Never jealous when your boyfriend is telling you his happy memories of the woman he'd be with if you weren't around? Not even questioning a lack of jealousy? Nutter. Unquestioning devotion to a man isn't romantic, it's creepy.

Also "Two had never been a heavy girl to begin with, but now vampirism had shaped her form to its absolute peak. Clothes that would have fit the Two that Darren had known were now a little loose" Wait, you're saying that a woman's physical peak is skinnier than when she is hooked on smack? Nice to know. Need to change my diet.

It's free and quite short, so if you're at a loose end I would recommend it. Otherwise, not so much.

Interesting story and some good accounts of what it's like to be a vampire!

Haven't read all of it, but I can see that there is potential for some interesting conclusions. The characters are believable and the main vampire is scary, which is always good!

Set in modern times, but the theme of vampires is ageless, so can be adapted here.

I look forward to finishing it.

Recommended.

Finished the book and it was a great read. It took me a little more time to get into the characters and plot after my first review, but this didn't take long.
One of the other reviewers gave this 3/5 and said it lacked depth and while this is true, there are 2 more in the trilogy and it would be great if the depth could be achieved there. While I did crave for some more background into the main characters, the author is great at capturing the present and he writing style is very addictive and I found myself up late reading till I feel asleep and then when it all finished I wanted to read the other two.

Wow!
I wasn't a great fan of vampire novels until I read this.
I'm so glad I decided to give it a go.
A fantastic story with remarkable characters that I won't forget in a hurry. Tremendously written with so much detail and depth, it almost felt like I was there. I can't wait to find out what will happen in the second book.
Mr Buecheler, you have converted me! ( and got yourself another fan ).
