A pantheon of gods, pirates, and vampires and at their midst, Richard, an enigma. This was a truly fascinating story full of great characters, vivid descriptions and very unexpected twists. The interweaving of Sumerian myths into the storyline was particularly intriguing.

A haunting read which echoes long after the final page is turned.

Can't say too much about the plot without ruining the surprise, just know that it was a superbly written, very unique and a thoroughly enthralling read.

I'm definitely hoping there will be a sequel, for whilst all the plot threads were resolved, there is an opening for further unfolding of the one remaining dangling thread. Plus, I'm an optimist!

I cannot recommend this book highly enough - a totally unexpected delight. I've stopped reading vampire novels of late because they all feel like clones as far as the storyline goes - this one is most definitely not, it has a surprisingly different and enjoyable aspect.

I received a copy of this book from eBook Discovery in exchange for my honest review. This book was indeed a pleasure to read and review, so much so that I have purchased my own copy, because this is definitely going in my reread pile!

4.0 out of 5 stars A great vampire story!! 8 April 2016
By Paliden - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is a wonderful book! If you enjoy vampire stories, then you will love Blood Runner.

Richard is a blood runner, possibly the oldest in existence. When he meets Maggie through a strange series of events, his life is forever changed. Maggie has problems of her own, but Richard is determined to protect her. What will transpire in the end, is completely unexpected!

I have read a lot of vampire books but this one takes the cake! The only fault I have with this book is the language. There is a LOT of cursing in it. Other than that, it's a truly wonderful book! It doesn't end on a cliffhanger but is open for a sequel.
3.0 out of 5 stars Vampire novel that's a little slow paced. 25 Aug. 2016
By amalthe - Published on Amazon.com

I received this book from eBook Discovery in exchange for an honest review. I really wanted to like this book as I love vampire novels. It wasn't a bad read, just had some issues. The story went from the present to the past without any transition. It made it difficult to adjust and I would have to go back a few pages. My biggest complaint was that the story wad really slow. I had to put it down and go do other things as I found myself bored at certain sections. Additionally there is an open ending that suggest a sequel. Normally that is fine with me, but after having a hard time reading this book, I didn't get a payoff.
4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable 22 Aug. 2016

I received a copy of this book from eBook Discovery in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed the story of long lost love with all the twist and turns. It's a little slow to start but worth the time to read.
