A new song recorded for the celebrate greatest hits album,I was waiting for this album release firstly as a fan of the band. and just to to hear this new track.
Having heard the great broken glass park track also on this album I eagerly awaited the release of the album and quickly dowloaded the song.
The track is typical simple minds, poppy almost euro style keyboard riff with charlie Burchills chiming guitar chords darting around in the backround. However if youe expecting massive drums and the sing along a jim stadium massive sounds then your going to be dissapointed as the track seemigly rolls along the lines of sentiment the same way broken glass park reaches into the bands past love of glasgow life as childhood friends Blood diamonds is a track that seems to ache for a love that has past or a love that has been lost this is underlined possible with the glaringly obvious lyrics ? Maybe,or perhaps its a metaphor for something else, whatever you want the song to be about I guess,I love the track its catchy and has a very melodic hook.a worthy addition to the album.buy it.

Simple Minds are still a great band. This song deserves to be on the radio every day. Melodic, passionate, catchy. These guys really care about the music and it shows. Buy it!

Have loved Simple Minds since early 80s. They have stood the test of time. This is a great track that sounds even better live.

Great song; real throw back to 1980s! Heard it live for first time at their concert in May and loved it straight away
