Produced by Studio Bones (Fullmetal Alchemist, Space Dandy, Soul Eater) and created by Trigun writer Yasuhiro Nightow, Blood Blockade Battlefront brings compelling characters and dynamic plotlines together for one unforgettable adventure. After a breach between Earth and the netherworld opens up over New York, humans and creatures from other dimensions become trapped in an impenetrable bubble that surrounds the city. Forced to coexist in a new city known as Salem’s Lot, the shaky peace between humanity and the netherworld creatures is protected by an underground group of super humans known as Libra. When a case of mistaken identity brings not-so-ordinary delivery boy Leonardo Watch face-to-face with this group, he joins their ranks hoping to help prevent the destruction of the world by a group of monsters and madmen lead by a powerful being known as the King of Despair.
Contains the full series on Blu-Ray with both the English dub and the original Japanese track with English subtitles.

This show is great! The animation, style and music are incredible. It's set in a city that has all forms of weird creatures, magical beings and odd ball monsters that all look unique from each other with the main character mostly just trying to survive from day to day. If you're looking for a funny, action heavy and sometimes surprisingly touching show then this is a must. Watch a trailer to get a good sense of what it's about. (Also it has a second season which raps up the show but is just a good as the first).
As for the product itself, the Blu-ray comes in a well built case with beautifully drawn artwork from the show on every side. The case also comes with an art-book that, along with the usual insight into how characters come to life, has written interviews from members of the shows production (e.g. The Creator, the director, art director, head of music, etc..) that are all very interesting if you're into that kind of thing.
My one negative is that the case is tight and causes a bit of a struggle when trying to get the Blu-rays or art-book to come out.
The price may put some people off but I think it's worth it in the end for anyone who is a fan of the show and is wanting to know more about how it was made.
If you don't want the extras and are only after the show then it's probably worth getting the DVD instead as it's cheaper and lacks all the insight the Blu-ray gives you.
