Covers everything a first time father-to-be will want to know about pregnancy. (Junior Pregnancy & Baby Magazine)
From the Back Cover
That long walk out of the hospital door, into the big bad world with a newborn baby, is about as terrifying as things can get. No escort home to check you're doing everything right? No forms to sign and no fee to be paid? What a strange, strange feeling.
This book is for any bloke who is, or is about to become, a dad. Let's face it, we men are pretty petrified by anything we don't understand. We need manuals: A + B = C. Hence The Bloke's Guide To Babies - no flowery prose or idealistic diatribe; just telling it how it is, raw and unabridged. What's the worst that can happen? What's the best? If the engine is smoking, what should we look at first - the radiator or the alternator? Here is the truth, in bite-size pieces: those first few weeks - getting to grips with nappies, bottles, extreme exhaustion and the whole breastfeeding caboodle
your baby's measurements - from IQ to willy size; are you now a competitive dad?
the truth about babies' birthday parties, fitting car seats, resuming 'biblical relations' with the missus, suddenly becoming a 'babe magnet' ... and so much more!
Jon Smith lives with his wife, Lisa, and their two children, Alia and Ronin. Jon writes books, screenplays and musical theatre.

Your other half will be reading countless books, manuals, mother and baby & pregnancy magazines and so forth? Is that for you? Probably not and so this is where this book comes in. Do you want to spend your life mulling over the finest details of how to deal with your offspring in prosaic language, repeatedly being told how beautiful everything is? Alternatively, would you like a book that cuts to the chase and tells you how it really is and if there's a fix for it. This is THAT book. Here is where you will find the truth.
What do you *really* need to buy? How can you avoid going bankrupt? Is your sprog measuring up? How can you put a stop to those annoying habits? Should you even try? When can sex resume? What about contraception again? Are second hand clothes acceptable? What do we need by way of cots, cribs, high chairs, push chairs and so forth? All nicely summed up in plan words in a few paragraphs instead of in coma-inducing detail :-)
It is written in a lighthearted mild manner, which is just what you will need at that moment in time, beleive me.
All in all, it was enjoyable

Only 10% of this book contains useful information for new dads. The remainder is a trite and tedious attempt to be funny.Published on 4 July 2014 by MR E W HUTCHINGS
