Review

"What's so fabulous about The Blissful Baby Expert is that Lisa's advice is enriched with the experience of working with hundreds of babies - including three of her own. A solid and sensible guide to help with the adventure that is parenthood." (Faye Barker, ITV news presenter and mum-of-two)

"Lisa works wonders! After just two nights of following her advice, my family had a peaceful night's sleep for the first time in months. I trust her because she understands babies - and parents, too." (Paula Greenspan, journalist)

"To me, The Blissful Baby Expert really is like a fairy god mother! The advice Lisa gave me was straightforward, well-explained and easy to follow. And everything she told me to do worked perfectly. Unlike some baby experts, she's approachable and patient, offering gentle reassurance but not in a judgemental way. Thanks to her I feel in control again and more importantly, I'm getting sleep! I've already recommended her to loads of my friends and will continue to do so." (Rachel Tompkins, journalist)

"The Blissful Baby Expert is a fantastic guide for new mums, especially in those early weeks when everything is a bit chaotic. As a first-time mum, the schedule suggestions and chapters on feeding and sleeping were essential reading. Lisa's knowledge and understanding of what matters to a new parent really shines through." (Natalie Cullington, publicist)

This is a easy to read, well written book with excellent advice from cover to cover. It covers all the things that you need to know. Excellent for first time mums like me. The best thing is that it isn't preachy and is written in a really supportive way. A must read for a new mum and dad. Brilliant!

Although the advice about routines and childcare is all out there, it is hard to follow when sleep deprived with a crying baby. I highly recommend Lisa's book to see you through these difficult early days...I had 5 months of hard graft at night until at my wit's end I took Lisa's advice and that very night my baby slept through for 12 hours, and has done so since (over a week ago). She offers intuitive, intelligent advice with great attention to detail (and a sensitive approach to crying methods which was a great support). Thank you Lisa!

I was recommended this book when my daughter was 14 weeks old and would only nap in the day when she was either in the sling/car/pram. This meant I didn't stop and my whole day was revolving around walking so she could sleep. Coming into winter it was getting impractical and I was shattered. I read Lisa's book and knew we needed to get into a routine and teach her to go to sleep herself. After reading the book and emailing Lisa I got more than just help I got the support and confidence to do make some changes. I decided at first to get the feeding and good napping times in place using the sling/pram/car for 3 days so her body clock was used to a long lunchtime nap with a short morning and afternoon nap and the feeding times as per Lisa's suggestion, I then moved into her doing the naps in her cot.

My husband agreed with the idea of me doing some timed crying and I started with the evening sleep, (she had previously breast fed to sleep). The first night it took only 14mins for her to go to sleep, less time than I thought. Since then it's never taken as long. She now has 3 good naps a day either in her cot or occasionally in her pram/car if we are out and about. She also sleeps through the night now. She first did this about 10 days after starting the routine and timed crying. Then we slipped and she started waking for a short comfort feed again for a few nights then she dropped it again. So at 18 weeks she is sleeping through and we are getting a full undisturbed night and feel great for it. She's such a contented happy baby and if she does cry I instantly know what's wrong and can help her. Now she only grizzles if she's bored or getting tired, life is fantastic and much less stressful.

I purchased this book after my 3 month old baby's sleeping deteriorated as result of on demand breast feeding and a lack of routine. I really wish I'd read the book before giving birth as I'm certain it would have saved both myself and my husband a lot of stress and worry in the first few months.

As our feeding schedule had become so out of kilter - my baby was feeding more at night than in the day - initially I found it difficult to get on track with the feeding schedule suggested in the book. When my little girls night wakings worsened - she started to wake up every 3 hours - I contacted Lisa for advice via her website and she came back to me the following day with personalised guidance on what to do. Within a few days of implementing our feeding was on back track and within 2 weeks my little girl is now sleeping through the night. I now feel more in control again and my daughter is far more settled and content as a result of the routine. I find it incredible that Lisa herself is contactable as although the book itself is well written abd easy to follow as we know not all babies follow the textbook so being able to get assistance based on your situation is a life saver.

I would recommend this book to all parents to be and I'll be purchasing the toddler book to get myself ready for the next challenge!

I went a step further than the book, due what I can only describe as a physical, mental and emotional impairment myself and my husband were suffering through sleep deprivation. Problems at work on focus, etc as we were literally fatigued. I signed up for the Gold 1 Year Membership so that I could personally speak to Lisa. Within 9 days of following the plan she derived for us - which was relatively simple to follow - a 14 month problem was about 95% resolved. I am confident we will be 100% resolved in less than a week. It is simply incredible what has been achieved with my baby and I cannot express the difference to myself with a few nights of decent sleep. It's just amazing what Lisa can do.

I wish I had read this book in the last few weeks of my pregnancy as it is packed full of practical, informative advice all delivered in a very personable manor making it easy to read when you have not had much sleep!
I particularly liked how the author listed all the useful products that I would have definitely stocked up with in my last few weeks of pregnancy.
When I was pregnant I felt so much focus was placed on pregnancy and birth and I didn't really have a great reference book for what to expect once my little boy was born. This fabulous book would be great for any new mum, or dad, to find out exactly what to expect next and how to make an informed decision as to what is best for their unique circumstance. The information on breastfeeding is excellent and although we never needed to try the 'cry it out' method as our little boy was generally a happy chappy I liked how the author explained her reasons for it and they strike a happy balance between the many books with a more attachment based focus and at the other end of the spectrum the Gina Ford books. The resounding feel of the book is very comforting, like having your own expert on hand to offer support and guidance but in a non-pushy way. There are many real life examples to read and I found the section on weaning very good, we did the exact same as the author a mixture of 'baby led' and purees.
Pretty much every topic relating to a new born baby right up to toddlerhood is covered in this book, there is much reassurance and good advice given in the treatment of minor illnesses as well at the end. The author does make a brilliant point, that is reiterated throughout this book which is - that you will learn to know what is best for your child and each child is different. Sound advice indeed.
I was very lucky to download this book for free when it was on a promotion but it is still an excellent price for so much fabulous advice all given by a lady who clearly knows a lot about children.
