About the Author

Eden Summers is a true blue Aussie, living in regional New South Wales with her two energetic young boys and a quick witted husband.
In late 2010, Eden's romance obsession could no longer be sated by reading alone, so she decided to give voice to the sexy men and sassy women in her mind. Eden can't resist alpha dominance, dark features and sarcasm in her fictional heroes and loves a strong heroine who knows when to bite her tongue but also serves retribution with a feminine smile on her face.

Blind Attraction (Reckless Beat #1) by Eden Summers

2.5 Stars

AAArrrgggghhh. This is one book where I really had to think hard about the points in my rating system because there were so many contradictions it was difficult to decide where to add or where to deduct.

The story started out great, the writing was easy and modern so I had no problem getting into the book. Alana was a very naïve, sweet 27 year old who had led a very sheltered life. Home schooled by her mother in a retreat for abused women she had missed out on all the usual things growing up and was extremely socially awkward as a result. Her behaviour during the concert when Mitch kept giving her the eye was very true to the character built, she was embarrassed uncomfortable and wasn't sure why he had picked her out from the rest of the crowd.

It was after the concert when Alana and Kate decided to meet Mitchell for a drink in the hotel bar that the story fell apart for me. Her behaviour did not mirror the character that the author had built which had me groaning out loud at the absurdity of it and made me wonder why she had created Alana one way but written her part the total opposite. Without going into details and giving away spoilers I can't fully explain what I mean by this, but for me to be fully immersed in a book, I have to be convinced enough by the storytelling that even the unbelievable is believable, and that truly did not happen here.

Not only was Alana's behaviour totally out of whack, but to have the estranged family members approach her in the café was one coincidence too much for my imagination to take.

It's really disappointing when this happens to me, I set myself up for an exciting read with a hunky male lead and end up being let down..........

Sometimes I think the whole rock star bad boy thing is slightly overdone, thankfully this wasn't really the typical can't keep it in his pants but for the love of a good woman he's instantly reformed type thing. It didn't have my emotions all over the place and for that I was actually thankful cause that wasn't the type of read I was hoping for, others may feel differently and I really don't mean it in a negative way at all. It only took me a few hours to finish cause it was a good story, I was rooting for the main characters to get their happy ending however it happened. The characters were sweet and well rounded and seemed to have hidden depth, I'm just hoping we find out more about them all as the series progresses cause this is one I will definitely be following

I so enjoyed this story, it's a fairytale really, shy girl goes to concert and catches the eye of rock star, who is disillusioned by the music business and all the groupies. Alana has lived a sheltered life thanks to her mother but goes to a concert with her outgoing friend Kate, when the band come on and all the women go mad she sits back and just tries not to get squashed but her innocence has captured Mitchell's eye and she's taken his breath away. With amazing situations and both their natures coming out while they're together this makes a really sweet love story with a few twists and turns. The story and plot were great, the sex scenes were hot, along with the loving aspects, some angst, good writing and loved the characters. Overall a really good read which I would recommend.

The first in the series, it was free. The story was a true romance. I totally loved it. They both wanted the same things, it just took them a little time to completely realise, it Mitch hadn't try to push her away for her own good, it would of happened sooner.

4.5 sizzling stars...

Well I jumped straight on the giddy train & devoured this book..wowza!

Mitchell was the lead guitarist of the very famous Reckless Beat, who noticed a dark haired beauty at the very front of the crowd. He was captivated by her green stare, and attempted to seduce her with his eyes.

But Alana wasn't a groupie, she wasn't considered ordinary, given the upbringing she had..

An attempt to arrange to meet her backstage was mis-managed, and after nearly losing the opportunity, an altercation occurred which brought Alana & Mitch together.

I loved Mitchell's tenderness when dealing with Alana's situation..and their connection was beautiful, as well as satisfyingly steamy! Blake was a character, who I'm looking very forward to hearing more about. His role of Mitchell's conscience was endearing..

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and its heat level. :-D left me panting for the next instalment!

For all this looked like it should be a run of the mill lust fest it did take a while to get in to and quite a bit of: Hmm that wouldn't happen & err, very unlikely. If you can suspend reality for long enough (and I guess that's what getting into a book is all about) then it gets a hell of a lot better the further you go. The plot is fairly predictable with the odd twist but then it's not a murder mystery and it has a lot of good ideas! Blind Attraction would definitely appeal to anyone who has loved and lost or even loved and won, which may very well include most of us?
I may even purchase the second one,
Thank you Miss Summers.
