Format: Paperback
This is a book to be savored by those who enjoy historical fiction. Beautifully written by a master storyteller, it centers around a beautiful house, Merravay, which was built during the Elizabethan era, and the lives of those who lived in it throughout the passing centuries.
It is a rich melange of personalitites, conflicts, loves, and everyday twists that meld into the foundation of the house whose inhabitants have seen so much personal and historical strife. Filled with memorable characters throughout the ages, this thoroughly engrossing book will keep the reader entertained until the very last page is turned.

Picture the scene, a wet holiday in Cornwall in l968, fed up so bought a book, that looked good although didn't know the author. The rest as they say is history. Bless This House is a fantastic read, have just read it again and enjoyed it so much, all over again. From this I read all Norah Lofts books, and through me my American penfriend did the same, we still talk about her. If you haven't read this book, or any of the others, you are in for a treat. Would thoroughly recommend the House trilogy.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a really good story about days gone by, and with real, alive characters. I like to read books in the first person, and so enjoyed each story of the people who lived in this house, throughout the centuries. Norah Lofts is a brilliant writer. I have all of her books!

I love the way the story is about the house over many years and so contains many sub stories within it concerning the inhabitants. Great read
