All thirteen episodes from the vampire-killing tv series developed from the film franchise of the same name. As the battle against the forces of the undead continues, only Blade (Sticky Fingaz), the Daywalker, half-human, half-immortal, can challenge the House of Chthon in their quest for mastery over mankind. Aided by his weapons maestro Shen (Nelson Lee) and vengeful Iraq veteran Krista Starr (Jill Wagner), Blade sets out to rid Detroit of a newly-improved vampire beginning to make its mark on the streets. Episodes comprise: 'Pilot', 'Death Goes On', 'Descent', 'Bloodlines', 'The Evil Within', 'Delivery', 'Sacrifice', 'Turn of the Screw', 'Angels and Demons', 'Hunters', 'Mobsters' and 'Conclave'.

The series is great I love it (and can't wait to get my hands on it) and hope it comes back, along with Firefly, Blood Ties and Moonlight (not Moonlighting with Bruce Willis).
The producers deliberately set out to be as uncompromising as the three films, nothing to be watered down for the small screen. The result is very violent indeed. Sticky Fingaz as Blade is a formidable presence, Neil Jackson as Marcus van Sciva a worthy villain (sympathy for him increasing after revelations in episode 10). Glamour (and lots more violence) are impressively provided by Krista and Chase, both with their own agenda. Nobody is particularly likeable except for Nelson Lee as Blade's cheerful, highly resourceful companion.
The three stars given here should not mislead. More are meant to be awarded only if one "liked" or "loved" an offering. To be honest, I found everything a bit much. Be assured that all concerned have done most effectively what they set out to do. Addicts of the genre will find much to relish - almost non-stop high powered action, awesome special effects, plenty of horror (vampires scuttling across ceilings definitely scary), an anarchic finale full of double crosses and with no holds barred.
Thirteen episodes (the feature length pilot counts as two). Commentaries for the pilot. An hour of interesting extras.
The series has been cancelled though and unfortunatly this means that what you see is what you get and the ending (as they had to leave it) really is a bit dispointing.
but great fun while it lasts.. check out blood ties and the dresden files also.
If you like Vampires with good scenes of gore and action, you will love this.
I loved it and recommend it for a good buy.

... Completely disengaging. Can't care about the characters, and mostly bad acting. Two stars is generous but I've undoubtedly seen worse.Published 1 month ago by StellaKins
