I love Blade and I bought (for my daughter's boyfriend and for me to borrow....lol) Blade the Series and House of Chthon as offered on Amazon but.......be aware as House of Chthon is included in the series so don't buy these together - you're duplicating.

The series is great I love it (and can't wait to get my hands on it) and hope it comes back, along with Firefly, Blood Ties and Moonlight (not Moonlighting with Bruce Willis).

Detroit. Pure Bloods are supreme amongst the Vampire Families, lower ranks jostling for higher position in the style of "The Godfather", treachery a speciality. Blade has declared war on all of them. He is half vampire, result of his mother's rape by one. Regular painful injections ensure he maintains vampire strengths but not their weaknesses - he able to cope with daylight, silver and garlic. Wearing his massive coat crammed with armoury, he sets out to create havoc and destruction amongst his enemies....

The producers deliberately set out to be as uncompromising as the three films, nothing to be watered down for the small screen. The result is very violent indeed. Sticky Fingaz as Blade is a formidable presence, Neil Jackson as Marcus van Sciva a worthy villain (sympathy for him increasing after revelations in episode 10). Glamour (and lots more violence) are impressively provided by Krista and Chase, both with their own agenda. Nobody is particularly likeable except for Nelson Lee as Blade's cheerful, highly resourceful companion.

The three stars given here should not mislead. More are meant to be awarded only if one "liked" or "loved" an offering. To be honest, I found everything a bit much. Be assured that all concerned have done most effectively what they set out to do. Addicts of the genre will find much to relish - almost non-stop high powered action, awesome special effects, plenty of horror (vampires scuttling across ceilings definitely scary), an anarchic finale full of double crosses and with no holds barred.

Thirteen episodes (the feature length pilot counts as two). Commentaries for the pilot. An hour of interesting extras.

For what it is Blade the series is ok, its has good stuff it like expanding on the vampires in society, more action scenes and a good replacement actor to play Blade. Over all its not great but its not bad either.

sticky fingaz may look cooler than wesley snipes as blade, but he is a terrible actor, also blade isnt the main character here, some woman called krista starr is, but the show is a bit of a mixed bag of half decent episodes and awfull episodes that ends on a good cliff hanger coz it got cancelled, i just wish it had a proper ending

I am not a huge Blade fan (although the second film was pretty good) and to be honest I only picked this up because it was cheap & a friend had recommended it to me....Boy, am I glad he did. This is excellent, Sticky Fingaz interpretation of Blade is far darker than that of Wesley Snipes & the action/fighting scenes are superb, much better than the at times cartoonish martial arts of the films. The story line, which arcs through all the episodes, is great, chief villain Marcus is a complex charachter rather than a cardboard cut-out & his boss Charlotte is truly scary. All this plus the gorgeous Jill Wagner...what more could you want? Actually, thinking about it, what I really want is a second series!

this series had great potential and some epidoes are better than others.

The series has been cancelled though and unfortunatly this means that what you see is what you get and the ending (as they had to leave it) really is a bit dispointing.
but great fun while it lasts.. check out blood ties and the dresden files also.

I liked the story line and for a follow on to the films which ended with Blade Trinity, I think it's worth watching. Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones Play a excellent part as Blade and Jill Wagner as Krista Starr Started fairly weak, but improved as the show continued.
If you like Vampires with good scenes of gore and action, you will love this.
I loved it and recommend it for a good buy.
