I really enjoyed this book but it didn't wow me. Really well written, a good story and well executed characters.
This story is all about Maverick, Kael and Killian, Kael and Killian being brothers and are both in love with Maverick, they all grew up together and their families are in business together - a close knit community. The problem here being that Maverick loves Killian with all her heart and soul, with every breathe she takes she lives and breathes him. BUT she also loves his brother Kael but only as a friend. So what's the problem you may say- she knows who she wants and Killian wants her too, but life is never that simple for this family because events take place that bring Mavericks perfect world tumbling to her feet. Secrets galore are about to unfold and blow their worlds apart, who will she end up with if any of them, and at what cost to her heart and all those that mean the world to her.
Lots of angst, lots of emotion, passion and regrets - but this story just dragged a little for me, I think that was it's only fault, but apart from that it was good.
I didn't particularly enjoy reading Mavericks character but I did love Kael. Killian - nope sorry, not keen on him either.
A recommended read for sure that will keep you guessing right until the end !!

This book had me on the edge of my seat, I had no idea what was going on, who was destined to be with who. I even had a moment of doubt at times myself, keal or Killian? But I just couldn't decide. Thankfully the author decided for me. And I have to agree with her, her ending was perfect.
Off to cry with perfect happiness xxx

I'm writing this review straight off the back of reading fla5 out for 5 hours. I wanted it to remain fresh in my mind.

So, as K.L. Kreig asks at the end, I won't give away spoilers as to who Maverick ends up with, but I will say this - I think she made the right choice. The parts in the present....damn! I was flipping back and forth in my mind trying to figure out who it was!! The clever play on words makes for a very angsty read!

Both Kael and Killion have loved Maverick forever, but ultimately it comes down to a choice - as we knew it would - but the journey that lead to the decision is where the story comes in. After all is FINALLY revealed (at 80%) I was just about as torn as Maverick.
It's pretty unreal, and I can honestly say I didn't see it coming. I was trying to work out what I thought could possibly have made Killion hurt and betray Maverick like that, and even when it's explained, I found it hard. I didn't and still don't understand why Killion was the one who took the fall. It wasn't really explained why, it just was. Simple and as complicated as that.

Now, what I didn't like.
Well, the time frame of the book, and the structure used was new, and somewhat confusing to me. It's not anything like what I've read before in that respect. We start 12 months before, and then we go to the present, and then....we'll we go 11 months ago, 15 years ago, 10 months ago, 8 years ago, 10 and a half months ago, 5 years ago ect ect.....we count down the last 12 months (month by month) in Mavericks POV, then every so often, we are thrown years back into the past in Kaels POV, and then back to the last 12 months, every so often, we look at the present, before we go time travelling again. We never, in all these time jumps, hear from Killion once.

I enjoyed this read it was beautifully written but for me something was missing. I was angry with Maverick, how can someone play with people's feelings like that? I did not like Killian one bit and even after the big reviel I still didn't like him. Now Kael, I liked him, I liked how he loved and my heart broke for him on several occasions.
As I said before I loved the way this was written, I connected with each character and I read until 2 in the morning just to find out! I have 2 small criticisms 1. Too much sex (never thought I would say that) I felt myself skipping some of these scenes to get to the real story, we knew he loved her, we knew he wanted her in every way possible but we did not need to read about the act in nearly every chapter to understand just how much he loved her. 2. The reveal at about 80% really? It was a bit overkill and for me a bit hard to accept, however, I did thoroughly enjoy this read and absolutely adored the epilogue.......final note- That Cover!!

I finished this book a week ago, and I haven't stopped thinking about it.

I loved all the characters and their interaction, it had me on edge all the way through wondering which way she was going to turn right up to the end, both Killian and Kael have an endearing side but you can tell they are hiding things which leaves you feeling uncomfortable. The side characters are endearing, but not overpowering - the story focuses really closely on Maverick and how she feels about both brothers.

I would love to know more about the sister and her story. It sounds sad and complicated, I hope she writes her side of the story too.

My heart was smashed to pieces. I had to put the book down and walk away a number of times. I don't want to give much away because that would spoil the whole story. You may need tissues. You will.

I would thoroughly recommend this book.
