Having most of The Black Keys material on vinyl and CD, and having yet to see them live, I snapped up this bargain on the back of having recently enjoyed The White Stripes similar offering 'Under Blackpool Lights'.

Well, I think it's fair to say that 'Under Blackpool Lights' set the bar very high, and as such this offering falls somewhat short. And while I appreciate that The White Stripes and The Black Keys are very different bands, despite the obvious similarities, I feel that The White Stripes probably hit the highs more consistently live than The Black Keys do, judging by the various live recordings I have heard from both bands. That's not to say that The Black Keys can't cut it on stage - the evidence of various audience-sourced recordings shows that statement to be untrue - but sadly this DVD does not represent such a show in my opinion; it just lacks something which may be down to the camera work and lighting as much as anything else.

I watched and enjoyed some of the extras - Pat and Dan seem a like decent regular guys - but then what do I know really about these people?

However, I just know they can look and sound better than this, so I rated it 4 stars on account of my fondness for the band and their music.

this is a good performance by the keys but it can get boring at times.
I guess they have matured since

I love the black keys ,, they have captured a certain blues sound on some of their recordings that is fantastic , the tone and clarity is brilliant. BUT this DVD of them live is quite simply rubbish. The sound quality is really really bad , the guitar tone isn't right , Dans voice is either wrecked or he isn't bothered ,,the only thing that shines through is Patric's drumming , which is brilliant (its a cross between keith moon and david grohl ).
Over all is like dan is trying to do a grunge version of their blues songs ,,i just dont get it , whats the point of putting out some thing of this low quality ,,theres an older DVD thats better ,,this could have been a brilliant DVD but it wasnt , its the black keys at their worse ,,,which is a shame.

Item arrived in perfect condition and super fast. Great quality DVD although the show itself is not as good as their 2005 live. Still very happy indeed.
