5 Month Life-Span

As many of you know, the xbox headsets die alot, I ordered this in october last year and at first I wasnt sure, the strap was very tight and sat at a weird angle creating a vice like grip on my head and ear that hurt for a while. I have now broken it in and it is decent enough, it is left ear only so I had to move the boom all the way to the bottom and aim it upwards to be able to use it on my right ear. This worked fine. Somewhere down the line the boom wire has become alittle loose and now spins around so it can be hard to angle it to my mouth. Now, 5 months later after purchasing it, it has died. I can be heard fine, but I cannot hear anyone else, when I move the wire near the hub I can briefly get audio but this takes a while to do and it cannot be sustained by this, which makes me think it is the connections in the hub, not the speaker, I opened it up, I cannot see any bad solders, so I will just have to look for another replacement. But while it worked it was great, The hub was stiff and stayed in the controller nicely without being yanked out all of the time, the wire was much longer than usual and was not so rigid so it was much more easier to use, the audio was alittle quieter than normal xbox headsets, but the mic was better, and picked up more of my voice. Anyway, it seems to be impossible to find a mic that will last, my very first xbox360 headset worked by far the longest, pretty much 5-6 years, yet all other xbox ones do not, and even offbrand ones have the same problems, not sure what to do or buy now. Cheap, but not great & only suitable for left ear

I bought this to replace my broken official Microsoft headset (that I stupidly broke with a vacuum cleaner, it was working fine before that), however you really do get what you pay for. Quality-wise it was ok while it lasted but it only lasted about 2 months before the connector stopped working and it became useless. I guess for £3 I should have expected as much really, but still not that great. I would really just recommend getting an official Microsoft one as they work well, are a reasonable quality and most importantly last.

Importantly for me however, this headset only really suits people that want it over their left ear, as the microphone only folds down one way. I guess, foolishly in hindsight, I assumed it would be the same as the official ones, but as I prefer the speaker to be over my right ear this really didn't suit my needs at all. I was able to bend it down to just about work on the right, but it wasn't great. This a small issue, as it's mostly my fault, but just a warning to anyone else that might prefer it on their right.

very poor quality

Seriously, do not buy this. Dont get me wrong, the quality of service from the sellers was excellent but this product really is not fit for retail. I took the headset out of the packaging and tried to put it on. Before I even got it over my head the thing snapped. I could clearly see that a) the plastic is of such poor quality that there is no elasticity in it whatsoever and b) the thing is so tight that it probably wouldn't go over a child's head.

I have given this 2 stars because upon contacting the seller asking for a refund they immediately issued a refund and told me to just discard the broken item in the bin. No fuss or hassle. (Although this tells me the seller probably knows how poor the item is and knows it's better to just issue a refund quickly and be done with it).

I originally wrote a positive review about this headset but I guess I did it too early. This is the second set we've gone through and they both became defective just after the 30 day guarantee finished. Thankfully the seller offers a 12 month warranty and Amazon were quick to offer a refund.

In both headsets they became faulty with intermittent sound before they gave up altogether.

I guess for the price, you are paying for a cheap product, but for both not to last a little beyond a month than you might aswell go for a pair from a 'Hook a duck' at your local fair.

Won't be buying a third set.

Seriously Great!

Ordered a mic that was pretty cheap and it broke in less than 40 hours. Now, I was a bit sceptical about ordering this one; it's £6, and let's be honest- everyone reckons that a mic for under a tenner is bound to be crap. THIS IS THE EXCEPTION. I've had it a few weeks now- decided to put it through its paces before review.
Comfort: I forget I'm wearing it it's that comfortable. Adjustable headband, soft foam over the earpiece and a mic that is at a comfortable distance from your mouth.
Quality: While made of plastic and looking a tad fragile, it is actually really quite sturdy and has a solid kind of feel to it, you could drop it and it would still work, and that's a plus for anything. It's got a mute button for the mic at the front where it connects to the controller, and an adjustable volume dial for the earpiece which is great and comes in handy when muppets online start listening to rap music (like it makes them more intimidating.)

Gotta be honest, I really like this headset. Delivery was quick (ordered mine from the seller Digiflex), packaging was fine, came intact. Love it.

Terrible headset

I ordered this headset, and it arrived really fast a day later, without the use of Express Class, which was great as I needed a new headset ASAP. Judging from the description, I expected a decent quality headset, but I was wrong.

Upon a test with one of my friends over Xbox Live, the mic was not picking up my voice unless I shouted really loud in it, whereas with my old headset (and most others) I could talk normally, no problem. My friend said the sound quality was terrible and he could barely understand me.

A shame, as the headset was comfortable to wear and had some good features. I'll be keeping hold of it as backup, but now I'm working on getting an official headset. Disappointing, don't think I'd buy from Digiflex again.
