This is the second book in Gena's Otherworld Assassin's series which is a spin off series from her Alien Huntress series. I liked this book but it isn't going to be my favourite Gena book. I have had this book since it's release date last November but it has sat on my book shelf waiting to be read since then as other books have been released which I have jumped to the front of my reading queue ahead of this one and after reading it I am sure that this was the right decision for me to make. The series is good don't get me wrong but there was just something about Evie and Blue that didn't really draw me in like it's predecessor Last Kiss Goodnight: An Otherworld Assassin Novel or like the next book in the series which has yet to be named is already making me look forward to reading. I'm a long time fan of Gena's books and especially her LOTU series but this book just fell a little flat for me - sorry Gena.

I loved the fist in this series, Th Last Kiss Goodnight but this was very disappointing. Evie started off being a really fiesty, strong and amusingly sarcastic lady who always got the last word and gave Blue as good as she got, and ended up a needy, clingy wimp. She must have apologised at least a hundred times for misjudging Blue (which in my opinion she hadn't) but did he? No.
To enjoy a story you have to like the characters I didn't, especially Blue who thought of nothing but getting into Evie's panties. (When did sex become a substitute for romance?) I disliked Blue from the start and ended up disliking Evie too. And why did Showalter make the AIR agents look like wimps, I shall never take them seriously again. Very disappointed in this book and in Showalter.

I mistakenly assumed that this book was part of this author's "Alien Huntress" series; however as it is part of the same Universe; and in fact a few familiar AIR agents make an appearance, I wasn't left feeling in the dark having not read book 1 "Last Kiss Goodnight".

Infamous pro footballer, powerful Arcadian alien and secret black ops agent, Corbin Blue has quite the reputation as a lady killer. Left for dead when his mentor Michael and his friends go missing, Blue knows of only one person he can trust; Michael's daughter Evie.

Evie is an ex-agent and now successful surgeon, but handy explosive gadgets and customised poisons are always near to hand should she need them. She's feisty and funny, and the contents of her handbag never failed to amuse. Her verbal sparring with Blue is definitely humorous, whilst the sexual tension between them is as explosive as the action packed story line.

Now my gripes with this book. It seems as if GS is prepared to brush aside Blue's initial inability to remain faithful because it's part of his undercover job to seduce and use females and he makes it clear to his girlfriends that he will continue to sleep around. Blue is portrayed as hating this lifestyle, but I questioned why he continued to do it; especially considering his unique and powerful alien abilities. Evie is also a little too understanding when she learns that Blue doesn't like his own reputation. Suddenly she's apologising for all the bad things she thought about him even though these opinions are justified.

I wasnt too sure about reading this story as the first in the otherworld series was such a let down to me but im pleased I did as this was a really great read from GS , I loved corbin blue, with his wit and easy charm and evie was great with her witty comebacks, their characters were great and fully formed, their relationship was emotional and hot, the action in the story was great.
this is a fast paced read that will have you smiling all the way through at the witty banter between the main characters.
The only downside to this story is the other characters didnt seem fully dimensional especially michael, im actually hoping for another in the series
If your a fan of GS then this will be everything you have come to expect from her work and will leave you wanting more.

This book seems to be one of two halves....the first part, good, showed great promise....then came the second half, which I thought was poor, almost as though the author lost interest and like me couldn't wait to finish the darned book....such a shame ! One for " The Bin"

Gena you have outdone yourself again with another truly mind blowing book, once you start reading it's unable to be put down until the end, and there is another question....why oh why did it have to end there???? I need more right here, right now, please!!!!

I loved reading this book, could not stop until the end ... it was funny and sexy. The fact that the author takes us to our "future world" and the way she describes it, is amazing. Highly recommend it.

Love the author, have enjoy her other books and certainly enjoyed this one. Looking forward to the next book in any of the series. She needs to write more, much more entertaining than watch tv.

The first book in this series was okay but this one seems to have been written by someone else!!! This is the 2nd Gena book that I have been very disappointed in. I usually love her books.
