One of these creatures is Declan, a vampire who has sworn off emotional entanglements with women; he's a one-night stand kind of guy and keeps himself to himself. He finds himself drawn towards Daria and they both start investigating strange goings-on at a ruined church in the grounds of the Inn. Soon they realise that there is a very nasty creature bound to the church grounds but who is attempting to escape - and destroy the world. Daria and Declan, along with a supporting cast of strange creatures at the Inn, need to work together to defeat Fenrir, the creature at the church, and the forces of evil, as well as keeping Daria safe from Hades' wrath when she doesn't pass her test.
This book was an enjoyable enough read with a very varied cast of creatures. Although it wasn't always easy to understand quite what Ganymede the Cat's powers were and some of the side-plots about the wager between Daria and Sparkle seemed a little spurious, the overall plot worked well. Characterisation was a bit patchy in that Daria seemed well drawn but Declan was a bit obscure. The pacing occasionally dragged and the final fight scene was over very quickly but all in all this was a reasonable read with some nice touches of humour and an unusual take on the need for personal beauty or personal ugliness with the harpy heroine.

I try not to read Ms Bangs books in my commuting time - as it is difficult to stop smiling or down right giggle whilst doing so. It can be a little embarrassing - I think caught laughing to oneself, in public, may be more socially unacceptable than talking to oneself???
The only complaint I have is that this one book - is not available on kindle. I have the complete set in paperback but would dearly love to have the complete kindle set. Why is that so difficult????? Please, please, please provide a kindle version of this book! If "One Bite Stand" kindle version is not to be made available, cab someone point out where I could obtain any Ecopy of this book??
Declan MacKenzie is back at the Woo Woo Inn to find out what happed to a couple of council members. He sees Daria and is strangely attracted to her. He isn't used to all these feelings that are coming at him. While Declan is trying to figure out Daria, trouble is brewing at the Inn.
Will Daria take Declan as a prize to Hades or will she take him straight to her bed? Can Declan figure out what is going on at the Inn before it's too late?
Ganymede and Sparkle Stardust are back and causing all kinds of trouble in One Bite Stand. I have three words for Nina Bangs, more, more and more. Ms. Bangs knows how to bring the funny and the hot passion to her stories. I love any of Ms. Bangs' stories that include Ganymede and Sparkle. Those troublemakers are too funny and they get a little back in One Bite Stand.
Declan and Daria are perfect for each other. All the angst Ms. Bangs' pours into Daria is wonderfully delicious. Daria is struggling so hard to find her place in the world and Declan is just the one to show her where she belongs. One Bite Stand has hot action as well as hot loving. Ms. Bang takes a great story and wraps everything together so well. I hope Ms. Bangs has more stories in store for her cosmic troublemakers and their charges.
