Product Description

About the Author

Born on the 18th of March 1927 life in my infancy through such young and innocent eyes appeared straightforward and uncomplicated. In actual fact of course my family had been thrown into turmoil by the sad loss of our mother before I had reached the age of 9 months. It would be my eldest sister Ciss who was left to pick up the pieces because of fathers work and apart from a short period of being farmed out so to speak would be responsible alongside her new husband Jack for the welfare of her youngest sibling until I reached manhood. Without the interference of the over-weaning nanny state I was taught the rudiments of self-discipline, responsibility and common sense during those formative years. These attributes have stood me in good stead throughout my life helping me to take advantage of the many opportunities that came my way. To be considered an author at the age of 85 would have tickled my wife, brothers and sisters especially Len, but alas they have all gone!

Bought as a gift for my Dad, who's Dad (my Grandad) served in 152 Squadron in all three theatres.
Very good book, well written and presented. A great reference to the day-to-day duties of the squadron, and well worth reading.
The author has amassed a wealth of wonderful historical information and photographs - these compliment the squadrons website very well: [...]
