The biologic for iPhone 4 is fine. But there is a flaw in the design of the iPhone 5 model which means it shuts off your phone if there is the slightest vibration. A one hour ride on smooth roads led to shutting down about 40 times!

Contacted the company but they weren't willing to acknowledge or fix the problem so am returning it. Will try a different brand. Shame as I was a big fan of their previous model.

My advice? Don't waste your money. A good company that got complacent.

I was very pleased with this product until I used is on my bike. The on/off switch at the top didn't work. This was a problem because on a long ride I need to conserve the battery.
I wrote to to makers and they suggested this:
It may be difficult to press, but it does not mean that it is useless.
We can suggest:
1. remove and replace the Silicone Liner.
2. press the power button a bit to the left, harder and longer.
Clearly this didn't help. I have made it work, sort of, by cutting a tiny slither of the silicone off because I didn't want to waste my money completely.

On the upside I dropped it with the phone, which was entirely undamaged. The touchscreen and home buttons work well, and mounting to the bike is easy and secure. It is easy to open and close, and the quick release works.
On the downside, in heavy rain water creeps in by the volume buttons. Also trying to press the volume buttons (e.g. To take a photograph) just results in that section of the foam surround getting pushed in.

HASH(0x8b06227c) out of 5 stars A great product that forgot it's purpose 18 Jan. 2013
By Phred Webb - Published on Amazon.com
I had the biologic for iPhone 4 and rode my bicycle across the US for months and it was awesome. Why? Because I could charge my phone while riding and listen to music. The new one doesn't allow you do either one! How stupid of them, since it is for the bicycle. I suggest they come up with a 'truly' cycling model to go along with the 'completely' water proof current model. Best thing about the iPhone 5 is the headset goes in the bottom where it is better protected from the rain than the top area. Amazon, please send this to Biologic!

HASH(0x8b255204) out of 5 stars Diaappointed 18 April 2013

I was very impressed with the BioLogic Bike Mount for the iPhone 4, so much so that I waited to upgrade my phone until this case became available.

There have been a number of design changes to the iPhone 5 case including, a shorter hinge, a simplified locking mechanism and the absence of access to various ports. The net result of these design modifications is a case that is inferior to its predecessor. The biggest problem for me is that the case does not hold the phone tightly. Whenever I hit a bump on my road bike the phone rattles inside the case and either toggles on or off or, in some cases, tries to power down. This made it impossible to use my phone a computer for my road bike although it works well enough when mounted on my folding bike which has a smoother ride.

HASH(0x8b062df8) out of 5 stars Close but no cigar, waiting on reply from Biologic 29 Jan. 2013

I bought this based on the overall reputation of prior Biologic cycling cases- there aren't many options for the iPhone 5. The new phone is so honkin' big I rarely use it on my handlebars. I still wanted a splashproof/rainproof case I could throw in my jersey pocket, and for the occasional time I need route assistance I can mount it on my handlebars. I didn't want to spend $130 on the lifeproof case and mount, maybe I should.

I have an issue with the seal on the case. At the bottom of the case, where there is a large rubber rectangle, it doesn't seal with the lid. The plastic rib and corresponding groove in the rubber that go all the way around the top and sides stop at the bottom. I can see daylight coming though this opening. It's not even close to being splashproof. I realize this is not a submersible 'waterproof' case, but in this case I don't think it's even weather resistant, as any water that gets on this area gets into the case- right at the lighting port, which has to be one of the worst areas to get water. I put a white piece of paper in the case to highlight the area I'm talking about- see the attached photos.

I've emailed Biologic, maybe this is a design flaw (my gut reaction) or a defective case. I'll update this review once I hear back from them. Right now, there really aren't many iphone 5 bike mountable water resistant/proof options, I'm hoping we can make this work.

HASH(0x8b062558) out of 5 stars Biologic Bike Mount for iPhone 5 24 May 2013

This product looked great and seemed to compare well against the other offerings from similar makers (e.g., Lifeproof, others). So I ordered it, happily unboxed it and worried immediately about the cheesy mounting bracket--would it hold the phone securely or would I be picking up parts of iPhone during the ride? The clip worked well, for the two rides of two that I used the case. But the major problem, and the problem that was the show-stopper: the phone sits in the cradle securely and clips to the bar well, but the sleep/wake button is triggered and turns off the phone almost every time I hit a bump in the road. In my town that is every 20 - 30 feet. That also means that I have to turn the phone back on to see the display for the app that I use for monitoring distance, speed, cadence, heart rate, etc. If the day is cold enough and I use fingered gloves, like the morning I used the case for the first time, I have to stop, take off the glove, re-initiate the phone, and pedal on until the next bump shuts off the iPhone. So for real-time bicycle data monitoring this case is essentially useless except as a good weather-proof case. So I returned it and bought LifeProof instead. I will review that when I get it and have a chance to ride it.

Save the $50 on this case, buy something else. Sorry, I don't like to make negative reviews, but this is one time I feel compelled to do so.

HASH(0x8b0626d8) out of 5 stars Nice idea with improvements but fatal mechanical flaws. 15 Nov. 2013
By Frank E. Whitney - Published on Amazon.com
I purchased this product approximately 8-10 months ago when I upgraded my iP4 to iP5. I also had the Biologic case for the iP4 which worked, so I ordered the case for the 5. The locking mechanism for the cover on the new case was improved over the previous case and the touch screen also seemed better. I initially liked the rotating orientation but one month ago the plastic pivot failed. The mounting point plastic broke away from the rest of the case and rendered it unfixable and unusable. To their credit Biologic offered to replace the case if I could come up with my previous order number but I can't so I am out of luck. Unless Biologic remedies the strength of the mounting point I can not recommend this product. That is especially true in light of other reviews and the fact that if the case falls from the bike at speed you are also out your phone.
