This was a great film for its time, full of humour and heroics! The story of a boy who befriends a circus dog, the boy moves house and the dog isn't allowed to go. The boy then proceeds to make the family stop every 5 minutes so he can pee and leave a trail for the dog to find!!! and as with every good film, their is also the bad guys, the romance and the rescue!
Full of family fun and entertainment a must for all dog lovers!!!

A great entertaining family film. This is actually the second copy of it which I have bought. I have also got a vhs off the tv. Bingo, the dog, is the absolute double of a dog which I once had. The story is one we have all seen in other forms and the canine? He's great!

If you have children and own/love dogs then this will amuse you! Ok, so the acting is cheesy and cringe worthy (expected from that era) but the dogs are the star of the show. Amazing training went on with these clever dogs. My children(6,7 and 11) didn't move from the sofa and were engrossed through out. So full five stars awarded because the impact the film had on the age group intended. Children have the best perspective, they see the positive in front of them, adults tend to see the faults. Good, feel good FAMILY film, worth a watch on a rainy day.

Impressive cinematography, well acted (especially the canine members of the cast), with a complex plot which highlights man's inner conflict between family and societal expectations and the need to find ones place in the world.
Combines elements of realism with a surrealist undertone, analepsis and a satisfyingly elliptical plot leads to an intricate but well worked out narrative.
Life changing; deeply moving but also comically light, provoking questions of human depravity and capacity for goodness.
