About the Author

Bill Granger has always had a keen interest in food and loves to experiment in the kitchen. His fascination for developing new ideas led him to establish his own restaurants in Sydney where he runs the successful Bill's and Bill's 2. Since writing his bestselling first books, "Sydney Food" and "Bill's Food", Bill has been a contributor to numerous publications, including the ABC delicious magazine and regularly appears in the international press. In his restaurants and at home, he takes advantage of the availability and diversity of ingredients in Sydney. Sydney's multicultural influences are evident in his cooking style and his food is perfect for today's casual way of life. Acclaimed food and lifestyle photographer Petrina Tinslay brings a sophisticated visual style to "Bill's Open Kitchen". Her work on these books has won her prestigious awards both in the UK and USA.

At first glance this book is like candy for the eyes. Originally I bought it as a gift and then ended up buying one for myself too.
The format of the book is it selling point, it is a great simple format and straight forward to follow. It is also refreshing to have a book that does not overwhelm you with complicated instructions - the recipes are easy to follow in their simple, well written way. Another big plus is the photography is fantastic too and really makes your mouth water!!
I have made a couple of things from it so far and each one has turned out well especially the deserts (the trifle is fab!!).
So if your bored of the bog standard cookery books this book is a real find - great to look at - easy to follow and of course the main thing being the food is deliciously different.

I am a recent convert to Bill Granger and I have to say this book might well rescue my waist-line. Bill's no-fuss approach to cooking is refreshing and the recipes are amazing. A few fresh ingredients and store-cupboard stuff that you can put together easily and quickly after work.

I started watching Bill Granger's cooking show on TV and quickly became a big fan of his style. Easy, flavourful....pared down to the simplest techniques, yet one doesn't taste the difference between Bill's recipe which may call for sifting flour ONCE and a different cookbook author's recipe which calls for sifting three times! I don't anyway and I'd rather save the energy. Every recipe I've tried from this book has been delicious and VERY popular with my family. His flavours are great!Am looking forward to trying them all! His books bill's food and Everyday are also very, very nice. I'd love to own all of his books!

I have been a die hard Delia Smith fan for many years, however have been trying Bill's books after seeing him on TV recently.

Just as Delia's recipes taste homely and comforting, Bills tatse bright, fresh and vibrant.

I love the combination of simple fresh ingredients, and have yet to find a recipe that is anything other than stunning.

I would recommend this book for summer recipies whatever the weather.

Light..fresh..delicious..vibrant..sunny..healthy
