Product description

About the Author

Sandra Marton, a best-selling American author, wrote her first novel when she was seven. It was a romance, which probably says a lot about fate and the mysterious paths that sometimes lead us through life. By the time she was ten, she’d read Gone With The Wind even though that famous scene where Rhett carries Scarlett up the stairs puzzled the heck out of her. / Sandra loved school, hated gym, and graduated high school at 15 ½. More important, she fell head over heels in love that same year and finally figured out what that scene in Gone With The Wind was all about. / At university, Sandra studied Creative Writing. She also studied to be an elementary school teacher because everyone knew you couldn’t possibly earn your living as a writer. Life got very busy. Sandra married the boy she’d met at 15 ½, began teaching, became a mom, stopped teaching, took in every stray cat and dog she found and eventually ran for public office and won, but she never forgot she had once dreamed of being a writer. In what little spare time she had, she wrote poems and short stories. The poems were dark and murky. The short stories were dark but not quite as murky. She even sold some of them but she knew she hadn’t yet found the kind of stories she really wanted to write. / And then, one day, she thought, I wonder if I could write a romance novel… / So she wrote one and sent it into the world where it was rejected in some places and given encouragement in others until her husband, that boy she’d fallen crazy in love with so many years before, took matters into his own hands and mailed her book to Harlequin Presents. / Seventy-five plus books later, he still loves to remind her of that.

Ordinarily I'm not a fan of stories with royalty of made up countries I usually find them rather ridiculous. But this is by one of my favourite M&B authors, she manages to add that extra bit of sparkle that just draws the reader in.

Prince Alexandros Karedes is despatched by his father to bring back Maria Santos a jewellery designer. To create a special necklace for the queens 60th birthday. Another designer had initially been chosen but had gone bust. So Maria as second choice is next in line. But, Maria's initial trip to Alexandros's country had ended with her meeting him not knowing who he was, but he thought she had used him to get the commission from his father. So when he arrives in New York to tell her the good news, he also plans a little revenge.

Emotional read with two very well drawn leads. I loved how Maria drove Alexandros crazy, but his reaction was it's her fault. That made me laugh. Filled with plenty of romance and drama this is an entertaining read.

Alex when u first meet him is a total dick to Maria. U find out he's been used and abused by social climbers before and when he finds Maria talking to a guy after their night together he assume the worst. Alex does make up for his character failings in end and Maria does something make it easy for Alex to think he's being scammed by Maria. Good HEA. Really cheesy but I like that in my M&B.

Really enjoyed this one. Classic romance with a modern twist in the 'Prisoner of Zenda' style. How can you not enjoy it. If you are a romantic at heart, you will enjoy this book enormously.

I really enjoyed this book. The heroine is sadly maligned by her Prince, who is not a particularly likeable character. Blackmailed into becoming his mistress if she wants to be given a valuable commission by his mother, the queen, Maria has little choice but to agree and is whisked off to his island home and installed at his residence. Things do not go as planned however after Alexandros's dying father makes Maria promise to go away and not destroy his son's reputation and happiness by continuing to be his mistress. Maria reluctantly gives her promise and leaves the island. This sizzles with chemistry and passion and eventually reaches a satisfactory conclusion. I always enjoy Sandra Marton stories and this was no exception.

Yet another romantic story it keeps the reader spellbound.

I enjoyed the way the author described the life of the designer to the royal way of life of duty as well as the insecurities of being a prince.
I enjoy the detail of the necklace while being made I felt I could see it in all its glory

I've always had a soft spot for princes and kings etc and I know they are a bit far fetched sometimes when speaking of made up countries etc but this one to me was just right. I enjoyed the storyline a lot and the characters were lovely as well. I also enjoyed the fact that it didn't get too complicated

Loved reading this series - my advice would be to buy the whole set as a "box set" at it is cheaper. Once you get to the end of the first book you want the next to see how the individual characters evolve. Would like a follow up book to round up the whole series.

Very uhh.. cheesy storyline, but I enjoyed reading it. Good for a relaxed read. My husband said it is rubbish trash (mind you; he only reads technical books), but I loved it.
