This is a lovely easy to read book from a pussycat doll.

Twelve-year-old Billie has dreamed of being a ballet dancer for as long as she can remember, but things aren't easy for her and her mum, who struggle to make ends meet.
Billie's dad died when she was little, and she dances to express her feelings.

Now she has an audition at WEDA, a world-famous contemporary dance school run by the inspirational Miss Murphy, whose motto is 'Never Say I Can't'.

But will Billie be able to get over her nerves and win a place at her dream school?
And will she be able to live by the school's positive ethos, or will she crumble under the pressure?

A lovely book for any little girl to read.

This is a fun read, especially for children who enjoy dancing. My daughter loves ballet and so this story had a lot of appeal for her. Life is hard for Billie and her mum, but Billie has a dream – she has applied to join WEDA, a world famous dance school, and she has an important audition.

Billie is all too aware of her dull ballet shoes and drab leotard at the audition, but can she still shine? When she achieves her dream, and a place at the school, it is the beginning of a great adventure, but can Billie manage to fit in and how will she deal with the horrible Cassandra, who looks down on her for not having everything that she has?

This is the first in a series and my daughter loved it and looks forward to reading on. Billie is a good heroine, who wants to pursue her dream, but is mature enough to realise that her mum cannot necessarily provide everything that she needs. This is a great school story, with a twist and has lots of appeal to dance mad youngsters. I would probably recommend it for 8+.

My eleven year old daughter loves ballet and dancing so I gave this to her to read and she really enjoyed it.

Like all young girls who dance for a hobby, Billie has a dream, become a famous dancer. How will she perform at her upcoming audition at the world famous WADA?

Billie does not have the best uniform or shoes which means that those who do not train as hard as her and put all their effort into their dreams are not friendly to her. Will Billie be able to dance and achieve her dreams. Find out by reading this great adventure full of twists and turns.

My daughter might get the second in the series for her birthday!

She usually reads Lauren Child or Jacqueline Wilson books.
