Two issues - On one of the stands, the wheel assembly was not completed, whilst the other was - I guess somebody forgot to do this little job before it left the warehouse. Took a bit of working out to get the bolts / seals right as there is no instruction for this part. The rest of the stand is self assembly with clear instructions, so a piece of cake.
2nd issue - quality of parts. Stand seems good value, but you get what you pay for in the little details. For example, spring loaded attachment feels a bit flimsy & the standard slots did not fit the width of my swingarm so you have to manipulate the springs on both sides to get it in place. But it does work ok.
The stand is basically in two tubular sections that simply slot together. This can sometimes give it a less than solid feel, particularly for heavier bikes i imagine. Also buy the fitment attachments (i.e. wheel "bobbins") so you don't have to fit directly to a double swingarm - you'll need wheel bobbins anyway if your bike has a single swingarm.
The actual swingarm "cups" (can't remember proper name) are a bit weak. The rubber protector will come off under little stress, but the only real purpose of this is to grip and protect swingarm from scratching (again, bobbins recommended for this reason). Also be careful where you fit the rear stand. For double swingarm bikes, if fitted too close to the rear of the swingarm, it will foul the wheel nuts which defeats the purpose of having the wheel in the air (i.e. wheel won't turn if jammed up by stand holder). I've found that simply sliding the cup holders further towards the middle of the swingarm eliminates this problem.
Overall its a good basic product for the money, is very light and can be disassembled for transport. Good value for money.
So not *great* stands but, a nice bargain piece of kit to have.
The stands were quickly built and put into action. They lifted my 45 year old Honda 175s with ease and allowed most work to be undertaken on them safely and efficiently, though removing the front wheel looks like it might be awkward - I'll let you know if there are major problems. Access to the rear wheel hub is fine.
I've seen complaints about the strength of the bars on here, but they seemed fine for all medium weight bikes at least - lifted a GS550 as well hassle free. Fine to use with 1 person as long as you use a bit of common sense - raising the rear first proved easiest.
An excellent product at an excellent price.

Barely used before I threw them away because they twisted. Do yourself a favour and buy an ABBA stand insteadPublished 16 months ago by I Dawson
