An enthralling recreation the story of The Exodus on screen with a spectacular cast, scenery and costume From the birth of Moses amidst the terror of the mass murder of newborn infant boys by the Egyptians, to Moses parting. All the vents captured splendidly with the exception of the glossing over of the Korachite rebellion, and the omission of the attack of the Amalekites on the Israelites in the desert, and the ensuing battle which Moses won for Israel through prayer.
Superb performance as always by Ben Kingsley as a sterling combination of a shy and stuttering to passionate and charismatic leader. A likeable and strong Aaron played by David Suchet, and Christopher Lee as an arrogant and imperious Ramses.
And of course Maurice Roëves as the rabble rousing malcontent Zerack.
Geraldine McEwan as an excitable Miriam and , Anita Zagaria as an attractive and wise Zipporah and Enrico Lo Verso as a passionate and loyal young Joshua.

All scenes blend in well with each other. The spiritual and historic message remains intact with a poginant and hopeful ending. A very instructive portrayal.

I first saw this on T.V and liked it then. While The acting is still good on this DVd particularly worthy of mention is Ben Kingsley and David Suchet as moses and Aaron. Everybody knows the biblical story of moses and what he did and acomplished, bringing the Hebrews out of Egyptian slavery. However, a couple of things dodn't sit very well on the DVd. While on T.v obviously there is quite a bit of editing, there is to my mind an unessacary Bloody and vilolent scene after moses comes down from the mountain after the Israaelites make a golden calf and worshipping it instead of God. It mightn't bother other people but it ghad me looking away. Otherwise, it is a finely acted, accurate biblical account.

A Little too weak in following the bible and showing Gods great Wonders in Egypt. But in many ways a nice film on the subject. Some people always think than when we try to explain or humanize spiritual thing's we make them better and more exiting. I really think the opposite. Making a movie on a biblical subject, then follow the bible.:-) Unless - make another story with another source.

I had doubts upon buying this DVD, but within the first few minutes of screenplay, I was enthralled. This film is perhaps the best account of the biblical story of the life of Moses. To be sure, the viewer may ask as to the accuracy of biblical accounts, but as a film relating the story itself this film is superb. Kingsly is excellent in the role of Moses, the atmosphere and flow of the story grab the viewers attention. Of all the films in this series, "Moses" is the one that stands out. Excellent film, excellent acting. The finale will bring a tear to your eye.

I chose this rating because it remained very true to the bible and the acting was superb, although some of those who played Egyptians were a bit wooden. You just waited for the doubting Thomas to start on Moses when things did not quite go his way. It is wonderful witnessing the faith of Moses and those who stood by him and believed in God's promise, even though they wondered through the desert for 40 years. Altogether thoroughly recommendable to all.
