I've not used any of the techniques in the book, just bought it for reference really. Handy to have a read over if you're interested in that kind of thing.

HASH(0x8dd02720) out of 5 stars Editing needed 5 Oct. 2013

Good information on nutrition and some basic information about improving your soil, i.e. compost, vermi compost, how to spread amendments, but no actual details about how to improve your soil. The reason I gave it three stars is the author is selling her soil and plant tissue analysis services. So there is no information on how one interprets a soil or plant tissue analysis. This is a self published book and it shows. I am a gardener interested in growing nutrient dense plants.

HASH(0x8dde0c90) out of 5 stars and it's amazing! The colors of fruits and veggies grown this ... 7 July 2014
By Lara Johnson - Published on Amazon.com

Dr. Jana Bogs has done truly thorough research on how to get maximum nutritional content into the foods we grow and eat, and she shares her findings and techniques in this indispensable book. I have personally seen, tasted, and felt the vibrancy in foods grown with her methods, and it's amazing! The colors of fruits and veggies grown this way are brighter, the flavors fuller, the plants themselves healthier and have little to no need for pest interventions. As a nutritionist myself, I can say that this is how plant foods are supposed to be, but usually aren't due to the fact that most of our soils are depleted and out of balance. If you are into organic gardening, farming, permaculture, nutrition, or anything of the like, then this book is a great resource for you.

HASH(0x8e7a92e8) out of 5 stars so of course she MUST offer the serious gardener or farmer the means to grow the very best food by using her services 20 July 2014

The information in this book is valuable for several reasons First, it details the benefits of eating truly nutritious food. Second, it proves just how significantly various vitamin and mineral contents can be increased by using her methods. So if you are a gardener or even a consumer interested in improving your diet, you can benefit from reading it.

I disagree with other reviewers who say that the book is merely a way to market Dr. Bogs's soil testing services. Most diagnostic tools out there are inferior to what she can provide, so of course she MUST offer the serious gardener or farmer the means to grow the very best food by using her services.

HASH(0x8e7a9450) out of 5 stars It is time to restore maximum nutrition to our bodies... and our gardens! 5 Oct. 2014
By S.L. Luscombe - Published on Amazon.com

This book is beautifully illustrated in full color, and extremely well thought out. Beyond Organic is the only viable solution to a century of commercial mining of our soils, leaving depleted nutrients in food grown on those soils, even when all the basic organic practices are implemented. What is needed is a healing and nurturing process to rebuild our soils, just as our bodies need to heal themselves through nourishing and balancing the terrain that determines susceptibility to disease. Dr. Bogs has produced a much needed resource book. You will be glad you bought, read and implemented this book!
