Anthony DeCosmo is going from strength to strength. What started out as a quirky sci-fi fantasy is turning into an enjoyable series with legs. This novel departs on a tangent from the other two, which kept me guessing all the way through. The premise of the series coupled with Anthony's imagination creates a world where you don't know what's coming next. Conceivably the inability to predict the plot could be tiresome for a reader but Anthony threads the elements together smoothly and naturally.

The quality of the writing and editing has improved again and I don't remember seeing any blaring errors. The strength of the characters has improved and the story telling is more subtle and integrated between plot threads. This latest episode adds some real depth to the series form its humble beginning. The writer has learnt not only to carry suspense through a novel but through his entire series.

This episode also seems to depart fully from the naivety that seemed to underlie the first in the series. Despite the horrific and stark environment created in the first book the writing didn't hold up and took the edge off. The second novel seemed a little darker; I put this down to Anthony's improved writing technique. Anthony's writing seems to have matured further to the point where he can now do his concept justice, as a result this book is much darker.

I believe after reading this Anthony should take the time to rewrite the first novel in the series. I don't think the first book does Anthony's writing justice.

I don't really have anything bad to say about this book. I can't wait to read the next one.

Its fair to say this is a book I've been waiting for with a sense of urgency since I finished the first two installments. It would have been very easy for this book to fail to live up to expectations, however it soared. Although I was initially a bit concerned about the book's premise it took a relatively conventional idea (I'm not going to put any spoilers in here) and wove it into the existing narrative of the first two books, answering existing questions, and throwing up new ones.

This book is much more about Trevor than the first two, which have explored a wider character base, and it is very rewarding for that fact. It feels closer to the first few chapters of book one in style. Seeing this established character pushed into a mold which is both unwelcome to the reader, but eminently logical to the plot, almost feels like a conclusion to two books worth of uncertainty about who Trevor really is.

Its saying something that this book is a lot darker than the first two, with a lot more grit. This isnt overdone, there is a sense of proportion, and the "nasty" bits of the book fit well with Trevor's changing nature.

I devoured this book in a couple of days. My only regret is that I can't (for now) buy this in hard copy so it can take pride of place with my favourite novels.

I was worried that the series was running out of steam and would become boring, NO WAY, was a great plot twist at the start and a generous few more during the book, very satisfying and well worth reading at any price.
Really looking forward to book 4, might be a good film in the future too

Initially I did not find this book as good as its the first two parts. It appeared to really lose it and did not make sense at all. About half way through I almost gave up and it took me alot longer to finish this. However it does recover later and is a excellent addition to the set. Looking forward to part 4.

And for the price it is amazing.

I enjoyed the first two books in the series better than this first one. I thought the first two flowed alot better for me and i finished them quite quickly, it seemed to take me longer to read this one . Felt it was alot slower moving , still good books and will be reading the fourth book.

Ok, downloaded and completed the novel in two days - please don't make me wait too long for part IV!. This is a great addition to the series, you are able to see the layers of maturity that are added per book in both the authors style and in the characterisation and plots.

The first book in the series averaged 4 stars, the second book 4.5 stars, the third book 5 stars. Personally I would have given them all 5 stars but this shows the growth of the author and the story

The problem with a series as good as this is - WHEN WILL THE NEXT BOOK BE AVAILABLE?
