Efficient, powerful neodymium drivers deliver fantastic sound, making this headphone one of the best in its class: deep low-end, clear mids and transparent treble set the DX 160 iE apart from its competitors.
Wearing comfort, isolation of ambient noise and a deep bass-response are crucial for any in-ear headphones. The DX 160 iE achieves all three of these with ease, coming supplied with one of the biggest choices of eartips available: 5 pairs of bowl-shaped types, 1 pair of double-flange types and 1 pair of triple-flange silicone types ensure that you can enjoy your music the way you like it. In addition, should you prefer foam types then the original Comply eartips (type T-400) provide a great fit, reducing ambient noise and enhancing bass - right down to the very low-end.
The DX 160 iE is supplied with a flat, tangle-free cable for easy handling and convenience. Should you need this to stretch a little further, an extension cable is also included with the headphones.
Full-metal-housings, attractive anodized surfaces, shiny aluminium rings and careful attention to detail make the DX 160 iE a headphone with quality you can see and touch. Sturdy design, rugged TPE-material and a 45 angled plug ensure your earphones will stand the test of time, no matter how you wear them.
Simply unplug your extension cable and plug in our adapter to share your music with friends or colleagues, quickly and easily
The DX 160 iE is compatible with all current portable devices equipped with a 3.5 mm jack output (including smartphones, tablet computers and laptops).
7 sizes of silicone eartips (5 types bowl shape, 1 type double flange, 1 type triple flange)
1 size of original Comply Eartips Type T-400

The construction is great, cables don't tangle, there's a good selection of ear tips, and the addition of a tiny carry case is a plus.
All in all, I'm happy, as my wife is very happy too :)
Which brings us to a highly questionable cord design. Having such a heavy element right next to your face brings zero-to-none benefit, and, while dangling, often causes the earphone to move or even pop out. It also gets in the way of winding the cable and storing it in the box provided.
One remark: they desperately need some burn-in time with white noise otherwise they'll sound pitiful for the first few hours.
The cable is flat and doesn’t tangle but there is interference when the cable moves against clothing etc. The cable is Y shaped and where it joins there is a connector for the supplied extension cable. Without the extension it’s too short to be useable, with the extension it’s fine.
The sound is well balanced and definition is good, better than Soundmagic E10s for example. As expected, there is not as much detail as my more expensive on-ear headphones but I think they deserve 5 starts at the price (£85).
There is a good range of silicone tips and a set of medium Comply foam tips. These are great. Just squeeze slightly before inserting and they expand to give a perfect seal.
A handy hard shell case is included, a splitter and a clip.
The sound quality is acceptable but when compared to a normal set of headphones, nothing special. There's far too much bass and the overall volume through many devices is decidedly poor. Overall, unimpressive. And I'm a musician, and I like to be modest but I think I'm a reasonable judge of sound quality!
The extender is also a ridiculous idea. They become disconnected all the time and the extender broke, essentially rendering them useless until I purchased a cheap one on here.
These headphones aren't worth more than £15, let alone the 60 odd I wasted on them.
Don't do it. You can get better.
Anyway, after 6 weeks the connector on the extender cable has broken, so it now needs that typical twisting to get the sound to come through and of course any movement stops it again. So the earphones can only be used without the extender, meaning the cable is very short indeed - only really usable if wearing a shirt with a top pocket to put the player in.
Apart from that these had been really good, the sound quality is great and I thought they were well designed and would last a long time. I've been extra careful with them as they were pricier than I've usually spent, but even so they've broken very quickly.
I can only think to try bluetooth earphones next, at least there won't be a cable to break!
They come with an assortment of different ear-pieces (a bit fiddly - I worry that the rubber will be damaged because the ear-pieces seem to be a bit of a trial to remove). Find the right fit for your ear and the sound is great! As with most earphones, they have a habit of popping out of your ear from time to time, but the ear pieces offer a bigger chance of finding a fit that's most comfortable for your ears.
The cable is lightweight and a tangle-free joy to handle (my previous earphones used to tangle into unbelievable knots without any help from me but these do not. The nice, zip-up case fits into the palm of your hand and is big enough to accommodate both ear-pieces and the earphones themselves. The case is a bit bulky for a pocket, but it serves its purpose well.
The headphones are useless without the extender and they are constantly being unplugged from the extender by the slightest movement.
Also the connector has be sat in a specific way otherwise only one headphone works. Again, highly annoying.
The only way these headphones would be a good idea is if you plan on using them sat still in a coma like state.
Stay away, spend your money on another product that does not have a 'Friday afternoon' design.
