Better Call Saul
Season 3 follows the twists and turns of Jimmy McGill's devolution into Breaking Bad's Saul Goodman – Albuquerque's most notorious criminal lawyer. Six years before he meets Walter White, Jimmy is a more or less law-abiding small-time attorney hustling to champion his underdog clients, build his practice and somehow make a name for himself.

Keeps getting betterSeason 3 building up nicely, can't keep stopping each episode. Can't wait for Season4

As addictive as everI cannot stop watching this and I've no idea whether that's good or bad - I have work to do!
Right from the first episode, this is head and shoulders above the sacred 'Breaking Bad'. I can see how overrated BB was; what do those catchphrases even mean: "I am the one who knocks" What is that? 'Heisenberg' - what does that signify? Four years ago I bought and watched the blu ray box set of BB - once. In that same period I have viewed 'The Wire' 3 times, 'Banshee' umpteen times, 'GoT' again and again,'Walking Dead' again and again. Even 'Fear the Walking Dead' is far more enjoyable for me than 'Breaking Bad', so there's no point trying to compare this to 'Breaking Bad' (I know how ironic that sounds).
This has Jimmy, Hector, Steve Bauer (back at his menacing best), Gus and - the crème de la crème - Mike.
I think Vince Gilligan got a rhythm going with BB, then dialled it up to 11 with 'Better Call Saul'. This is TV heaven and I love every second of it.

Excellent start to seasonSo far so good. Although Better Call Saul is a lot slower paced than the brilliant Breaking Bad, Its slow burning story telling of how Jimmy Mcgill became the criminals go to Lawyer Saul Goodman and how Mike became Gus's right hand man is so far very well written with a fantastic cast to go with it.
Without spoiling any of season 3 so far, we are starting to see some more familiar faces from the breaking bad series and rumor has it, we might be seeing cameos from Arron Paul and maybe Brian Cranston although I really hope that at least one of these characters has more than a quick few scene appearances and maybe the writers have found some way of making Jesse or Walt a more integral part of the series.
Could maybe be doable with Jesse but highly doubtful that chemistry teacher, pre- diagnosis Walt could play any part except maybe a 30 second run in with one of the cast.
I can dream though

Come Out Saul, wherever you are......As a fan of Breaking Bad, I like the Better Call Saul spin off series. Vince Gilligan said about Breaking Bad, it's the story of "Mr Chips turning into Scarface". Well Jimmy McGill (later adopting the name Saul Goodman) is going to the dark side but at a lot slower pace than Walter White, who had his first victim in episode 1 of Breaking Bad. The plus points are that we meet Gus Fring in Season 3 of Better Call Saul; his interactions with Mike Ermentraut & Hector Salamanca are one of the highlights of the show.
I've given the review 3 stars only because Jimmy's metamorphosis into Saul is too slow & lacks pace in a few of the episodes. By series 3, I had expected a bit more darkness & less light in Jimmy's character. Hopefully, series 4 will move the action along and the Saul we know & love from Breaking Bad, will emerge.

Best spin-off series everWe are committed fans of Breaking Bad so of course we were bound to love this spin-off. It was a little slow starting at first but series 3 is proving to be just as gripping as Breaking Bad. The writers are brilliant; they have made Saul Goodman's past life so credible and his connection with Mike is brilliant. I hope they find a way of introducing other Breaking Bad characters into the series in an equally skillful way. If anyone can do it these writers can. Can't wait to watch the next episode
