It's a very nice collection of songs. The re-recordings were done for logistical reasons and they sound similar to the original takes, but in some cases a bit less dated. And off course "Kayleigh" was recorded originally with the band's earlier singer Fish instead of Steve Hogarth, which makes the re-recording of that song a bit of an oddity as obviously it's sung by Steve Hogarth now. Off course you can't go wrong with Marillion and this is a good compilation as a Crash Course into their music.
If you like Marillion then you've probably already got this album, so you won't be reading this. For any one thinking of trying Marillion then this is a good as place to start as it's cheap and very very good. You should mossy on over to the Marillion bands web site where you can get a taster for free too. All in all a fine collection from a very very good band.
Bought this 'just because', and I have kept it in the car playing it non stop. Worth getting as a way into the band \, but not an essential purchase I suppose. I am glad I bought it and I really enjoy it.
