Critics trashed this Ringo album and its been deleted in the States.
Which is where I begin to be somewhat puzzled.
I mean Ringo is the first Beatle to do an entire Christmas album and not only that but he does the Beatles song Christmas time is here again.
Little Drummer Boy is ideal for him as well. And the final song Peace be with you is as good as it gets-shoulda been a single etc.
In fact this CD is full of what I hear as potential singles or at least could have been before that terrible Pogues one was voted the best Christmas song
This seems to be a reissue of the I Wanna Be Santa Claus one and its got a new title

The whole idea of Ringo Starr performing Christmas songs may seem a little odd, but the result is surprisingly decent. The well-known Christmas standards chosen fit within his vocal range and the originals, co-penned by Ringo (under his real name, "Richard Starkey") are quite enjoyable. As the previous reviewer notes, Ringo also performs a solo version of the legendary "Beatles Christmas" song "Christmas Time is Here Again", which here features a full and lively arrangement. Musically, it's what you'd expect: Ringo rocks on "Come On Christmas, Christmas Come On", is soft on "Christmas Eve", while the final track on the album, "Pax Um Biscum (Peace Be With You)" sounds influenced by The Beatles experiments in Indian-based music. This album, first released in 1999 was out-of-print for a while, but seems to of been re-issued under the "20th Century Masters" series, and has also finally come back in print in the US as well.

I'd certainly recommend it to anyone who likes both Ringo Starr and Christmas music.

To be played around Christmas! And you will be in the mood. This is Ringo singing at his best for a VERY long time. Good tunes, excellent backing. And if you can't wait - play it now!

This album is a fantastic Christmas record. I hope it gets the full marketing treatment for a re release for Christmas 2016. Several tracks should be Christmas staples with accompanying memorable videos. Ringo shows his great creativity with a Reggae version of White Christmas and an astonishing Pax Um Biscum (Peace Be With You). A smash hit Christmas single? "Come On Christmas, Christmas Come On" or "Christmas Time Is Here Again". Buy this album and help get Ringo on every TV channel and Radio Station this Christmas.

If there was going to be a Christmas album released by any of the Beatles after they broke up then you would have laid bets it would be Ringo who would do it :-) I bought this album a few years ago now and its become a part of our family Christmas . Ringo delivers a feel good album full of Christmas classics and a few new songs which he has co-written - all are excellent and you may well find this album will remind you that he was more than just "that drummer that got lucky" ... this is a great Festive album and I for one love it!
