Excellent book that does exactly what it says on the cover: it provides handy checklists for just about everything to do with improving your website and web presence. I've already used it for an optimisation project but you could also use as a checklist for new build websites too. Years of web wisdom condensed into a handy book.

This book represents a foundational starting point for your online marketing efforts.

In each section, which covers a particular part of online marketing, there is the obvious checklist. But then the author provides additional content in each section that can further guide you to success. It's like having a coach to get you started, or if you already market using online tactics, it's a great way to ensure you have everything in line.

I highly recommend this book for new to intermediate business owners.

Why not 5 stars?

You will be constantly testing your marketing, and while this book (and its checklists) represents a great starting point, your own checklist will probably evolve in response to the results of your testing.

I just got this book and I didn't read it cover to cover - because that's not the point. Instead, I thumbed through the chapters looking at the various checklists and I looked at three of them in detail (Internal Site Search, Site Architecture Issues, and Contact Us Page Checklist). This is a very, very solid book of marketing checklists and I was inspired enough to order another copy to keep around the office.

I have seen Stoney on stage at various conferences sharing some of his checklists, but I don't think I've ever formally met him. Either way, I think it's great that he's put these all together in one book and I certainly find them to be useful, and practical. I'm pretty convinced that marketers who follow these checklists will experience far greater success than those who don't.
